The Big Book of Spy Trivia: Spy Stories, Secret Agent Facts, and Espionage Skills from History’s Greatest Covert Missions

The Mommies Reviews

This is a review for The Big Book of Spy Trivia: Spy Stories, Secret Agent Facts, and Espionage Skills from History’s Greatest Covert Missions  written by Bernadette Johnson I asked to review because I knew both Charlie and David would enjoy learning about Spy Trivia. How about you?

Sometimes I wish you were a FLY on the wall in my home and could hear the things Charlie says. Just like when I showed Charlie The Big Book of Spy Trivia: Spy Stories, Secret Agent Facts, and Espionage Skills from History’s Greatest Covert Missions and we went over who wrote the book.

If you didn’t know was a women and Charlie can’t figure out how a women would know about being a SPY!! Like I told Charlie women can be anything they want as long as they put there minds to it. Just like the Author of this fun, amusing and information novel we read as a family.

The more Charlie and David read the book the more impressed they became with the Author. Even asking me if she had written other books. Which I had Charlie researching in his Homeschool Reading Class. Would you like to help Charlie?

I’ve had Charlie read sections on the book then I go back and read the same sessions and quiz Charlie to make sure he is retaining what he read. Through this we’ve been able to create multiple lessons plans including Art Lessons and started searching for movies and books on things mentioned in this book.

If you haven’t had the time to read The Big Book of Spy Trivia: Spy Stories, Secret Agent Facts, and Espionage Skills from History’s Greatest Covert Missions  and you or someone you know likes Spy’s and espionage you need to check it out as soon as possible.

I asked Charlie what his favorite part of the book was and he said Spy Tradecraft: Techniques and Tools of the Trade. I liked Chapter 9 Spy Agencies Past and Present because I got to learn who ran the FBI for nearly 50 years.

About Bernadette Johnson

Bernadette “Berni” Johnson began her career at age 6 when she crayoned a book about her mom that received a rave review from its lone reader. In her youth, she dabbled in computer programming on an Atari 1200, leading to an IT career in adulthood.

But she never gave up her writing habit. She recently authored “The Big Book of Spy Trivia,” published in early 2021 by Ulysses Press, which covers espionage history from ancient to modern times, spy tradecraft, and spy themed entertainment. Her other published works include over fifty technology articles for HowStuffWorks.com and several short stories. She has more books coming out in 2022 and 2023, and several short stories and novels in the works.

When she’s not watching movies or doing IT work, she studies history, science and other fun stuff, reads and writes fiction and nonfiction, and does the bidding of her terrier. You can read Berni’s blog and find links to her writing at
