Charlie was going through the Cookbooks Granny Sherry sent him this morning. When Charlie came across The Best of Country Cooking (Taste of Home). Charlie asked me what Country Cooking is and I explained it’s what we eat every day.
Charlie and I discussed what recipes I would consider is Country Cooking and that includes Chicken and Dumpling my grandmother Dorie made us. Or my mom’s Potato Salad no, one else knows how to make. Or my dad’s Stews. As I explained this to Charlie he said why would we need a cookbook with Country Cooking when you know how to do it all yourself.
I laughed and reminded Charlie I don’t know how to make everything other people do. Not only that the recipes I have are different from the people in the cookbook. So it would be fun to see what they make and which ingredients they use and how the recipes tasted.
Although I’m like most children that you know when it comes to what I will and will not eat. I am PICKY and I admit it. Although, one thing I would eat 365 days of the year is Hamburgers or Sliders. Which is the perfect size sandwich for David to take to work for his lunch.
Charlie brought out The Best of Country Cooking (Taste of Home) Cookbook from his Granny Sherry. The first thing that stood out was the picture of Sliders on the cover of the book. Would you want to join us for lunch.
With the Holidays right around the corner and everyone preparing there Wish List make sure you let them know about The Best of Country Cooking (Taste of Home) which they can use even if there a beginning cook or a Master Chef.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
