Thanksgiving is next weekend and we always have a few small children at our dinner table. I am putting together a basket of snacks and beverages so they don’t bother us when were cooking. I’m adding books and games to the Gift Basket along with Crafts and Coloring Books and Crayons.
One of the books I have in the basket is Almost Underwear because I knew little boys would get a kick out of reading a book about a pair of underwear While the girls squeak and squeal yuck that is nasty leaving us all rolling on the floor with laughter.
I asked Charlie to read Almost Underwear with me this morning and we were surprised to find out it started in 1903 and that it is about the Wright Brother’s a #teachingmoment if your #Homeschooling your children.
They stopped at a department store to purchase a piece of muslin cloth to wrap around a mechanical wing and changed the world. Then we learn about Neil Armstrong who 66 years later who took a big leap onto the Moon.
Neil Armstrong had a piece of the cloth from the Wright Brothers. Then fifty-two years later in 2021, a small remote- controlled helicopter became the first Earth Craft to fly on another Planet. Again there is that piece of cloth.
I love how this book is not only a story book but a teaching tool and could be used in Science Classes. The illustrations are amazing and will capture both children and adults attention for hours on end .I like how the Author has included a glossary of perseverance instruments we can learn about with our children.
