Last night my family decided to go out to dinner. After many discussions we went back to a family favorite Texas Roadhouse. Or at least it used to be but after last night my son is refusing to go back. Even though I hate to admit it my husband and I are feeling the same way. Even though its close to us and the food is good.
We always go to Early Dine which used to stop at 6 but they’ve changed it and its 5pm now making it harder for us to get there. yesterday we arrived at 4:25. We walked in and was seated right away. We knew what we wanted so we ordered our drinks. I let the waiter know we was ready to order.
I let him know we wanted to order from the Early Dine Menu which is a little over $10 a piece for our meals. I ordered the 6 Oz Sirloin and Loaded Baked Potato with a Salad. My Baked Potato just as David’s did have a up charge of $1.9 I believe. David asked for Chicken Critters, Fries and a Salad. The waiter turned our order in.
We were brought Rolls that was to hard to eat with the plain Butter I asked for. Our Salads and David’s Beer from the Happy Hour Menu was brought out. As I got ready to eat my Salad I went to move my drink and a Roach was climbing up the wall. David let the waiter know who said he would be back.
The waiter came back with the manager who didn’t act like he wanted to do anything. Finally he said he would move us to another table. He got on his Walkie Talkie and let people know not to sit anyone at this table which I believe was 130. He told us to bring our Salads and he would get us new drinks.
I walked over to the new table while David finished getting things from the old table. David said here is the Roach so the manager even saw it climbing up the wall and caught it and killed it. Still mot alerting the other guests. We got seated at the new table and our food was brought out. After all this going on neither David or I felt like eating. We ended up bringing out food home and eating a Sandwich here.
Our ticket arrived. I was looking over it and noticed the waiter had charged us regular price on both of our main dishes. I showed David but by then he just wanted to pay and leave. Then our ticket arrived and David said it cost us $40 something to eat. I told David that wasn’t right because the ticket I was looking at said $31 so how did it jump to over $40.
By then David was frustrated again and finally decided to ask for the manager. He came back and asked if everything was okay and I said no, our ticket was wrong. He says oh, I had meant to give you half off your dinner. Which was fine but to do that the ticket should be right and it wasn’t. I pointed out the things that was wrong and for food we couldn’t eat we still paid over $20. and I still have to monitor my credit card because the rest of our money will not be refunded for 3 to 4 days he said.
Will we return here no, we will not. Not just because of the ROACH but the wait staff who doesn’t know how to ring people up. As well as a manager who at times seems indifferent to his customers. If you go here for dinner just be careful and watch your tickets and this information is true but shouldn’t stop you from going its just to let you know what happened to my family.
