Texan Kitchen

The other night we went out to dinner as a family. David was kind enough to take me back to Bedford to have dinner at the Texan Kitchen which we used to eat at when we lived in Bedford.

We went to the Texan Kitchen on a Saturday night. We didn’t know they would have a Band playing. It’s a good thing we got to the restaurant when we did because the closer the time came for the band to play the fuller the restraint became.

I wish I could say we stayed to listen to the band but David had to get up the next morning so we left before they began to play. Now that I know the Band plays Country and Western Music I grew up on I can’t wait to return and listen to the band.

Charlie ordered the Kids Chicken Strips and Fruit. I must tell you Charlie ordering Fruit surprised me because Charlie doesn’t usually eat Fruit unless its certain things.

David and Charlie shared the Fruit and they said it was very fresh and there was a nice variety and they both liked the Strawberries a lot. The Chicken Strips was crispy and had a nice Seasoning and they cant wait to order the Chicken Strips in the future.

I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak which was very good. Just the right amount of Batter and the meat was real which we don’t find in a lot of restaurants.

The Mashed Potatoes were so good and real not Instant which I prefer. Along, with the Black Eyed Peas I liked a lot and can’t wait to order the next time we come here.

David ordered Chicken and Macaroni and Cheese. I am so glad David ordered a Double Order of the Macaroni and Cheese because it was so tasty. David was so nice he shared this with Charlie and I. The next time we come I plan on ordering a order of Macaroni and Cheese for not only myself but Charlie as well.

The Chicken was so crispy and it wasn’t dry. The Chicken was complexly cooked through which isn’t a lot of times when we order Chicken in a restaurant.

The seasoning they used was tasty and it wasn’t Salty or hot. I can’t wait to ask them what they use so I can purchase some for our home when we cook Chicken.

Did you see this is Bob Wills and the Texan Playboys. I know both David’s parents and my dad would enjoy hearing them sing. The next time David’s dad is out of town I plan on bringing Granny Sherry here to have dinner and to here the band.
