It’s All Fun & Games {February Themed Math & Literacy Activities for Kindergarten}

This math and literacy activity and partner game pack is perfect for Kindergarteners during the month of February! Your kids will love the activities because they are fun and engaging; you will LOVE them because the prep-work is super easy and minimal.

Themes included in this packet are: Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, and Dental Health.

This packet contains a total of 13 different activities. Note: Many of the activities have multiple version or very similar versions, so you can use the activities more than once, without having to re-explain directions to your students. Some activities are to be played individually, while others are meant to be played with a partner.

All activities include a kid-friendly “I Can” visual directions to promote independence. A table of contents is included to help you easily find the skills or activities you need.

-Spin and Add or Subtract: Students will spin two spinners to create an addition or subtraction sentence. (separate addition and subtraction activities included) (K.OA.A.1, K.OA.A.2)
-Addition activities using dice (2 activities) (K.OA.A.1, K.OA.A.2)
-Roll, Double, and Cover: Students will roll the die, double the number, and use the color code to color the objects. (2 activities) (K.OA.A.1, K.OA.A.2)
-Part, Part, Whole: Students will compose and decompose numbers using dice. (K.OA.A.1, K.OA.A.2, K.OA.A.3)
-Let’s Make..: Students will use a spinner to make the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. (5 separate activities, one for each number) (K.OA.A.1, K.OA.A.2, K.OA.A.3)
-Before and After: Students will use a spinner and record the numbers that come before, after, or before and after. (3 activities) (K.CC.A.1, K.CC.A.2)
-Base Ten Count and Color: Students will roll the cube, count the base ten blocks and color the matching number on their paper. (K.NBT.A.1)
-Roll, Count, and Color: Students will roll the cube, count the ten frame and color the matching number on their paper. (K.NBT.A.1)
-Presidential Ten Frames: Students will spin the spinner and make the number on the ten frame. Students will compare their mat to their partner’s mat to see who has the greatest number. (K.NBT.A.1)
-Ten Frame Spin: Students will spin the spinner and make the number on the ten frame. (2 activities included) (K.NBT.A.1)
-2D Shapes: Students will roll a shape cube, graph their rolls, and answer questions about their graph. (K.G.A.2, K.MD.B.3)
-3D Shape Spin: Students will spin the spinner and identify the 3D shape. They will find a real life object on their paper with the matching 3D shape, They will use the color code to color the objects.
