I thought I would share a new book with you Tchotchkes and their Fucked-Up Thoughts: The Messed-Up Minds of Your Trinkets and Treasures (Fucked-Up Thoughts) by Elisabeth Saake (Author). First and foremost as a parent and a Christian Blogger I wanted to let you know I didn’t care for the F…. word in the title but no, matter where we are or what were doing including listening to music and watching TV the F… word is part of our everyday language. Everyone uses this word including children. Don’t let the F word deter you from checking out this cute book.
I got past the F… word I found out the book was funny. Tchotchkes is such a cute unused word which was fun to teach Charlie what it meant. Once I did Charlie said it reminded him of the TV Show The Golden Girls.
Like everyone else my family has a whole lot of knick-knacks. If you asked Charlie he would say more than anyone needs. Even though he has knick knacks of his own.
I never thought about what my Knick knacks might say but after reading Tchotchkes and their Fucked-Up Thoughts: The Messed-Up Minds of Your Trinkets and Treasures (Fucked-Up Thoughts) I find myself looking at my Knick knacks in a different light. I wonder what my Angels would say to my Devil Donald Duck and why.
I shared Tchotchkes and their Fucked-Up Thoughts: The Messed-Up Minds of Your Trinkets and Treasures (Fucked-Up Thoughts) with David and Charlie. I wish you had been here because I found Charlie and David laughing out loud from the things in the book.
David said he can’t wait to share Tchotchkes and their Fucked-Up Thoughts: The Messed-Up Minds of Your Trinkets and Treasures (Fucked-Up Thoughts) with his mom Sherry. Knowing Sherry the way I do I know she is going to laugh out loud at this book. I can see her sharing the stories inside the book with my nieces and all of her friends as well.
I asked Charlie what his favorite part of the book was. Charlie said the Wind Up Toy. David liked the Novelty Salt and Pepper Shakers because I collect Salt and Pepper Shakers just like my Aunt Sue did. Charlie and David think the Salt and Pepper Shakers are going to take over our home. David wanted to get advice from the Salt & Pepper Shakes on ways to collect them without them taking over our home.
I loved the Handmade Quilt because I have my grandmothers quilt she made. Before I let you go there is much more in Tchotchkes and their Fucked-Up Thoughts: The Messed-Up Minds of Your Trinkets and Treasures (Fucked-Up Thoughts) but I didn’t want to give everything away. You need to check out the book for yourself to see what else the Author had to share with us. Once you do leave me a comment and let me know your favorite part of the book and why.
