I received a copy of the children’s interactive #Halloween book Squeaky Bat (Squeeze & Squeak) written by Maggie Fischer and Illustrated by Lucy Barnard in exchange for this review.
Charlie and David are like little kids when there around things that say push me, pull me or press me. Which is what happened when I showed Charlie Squeaky Bat (Squeeze & Squeak) which makes noise when you squeeze the bat on the front of the book.
Charlie enjoyed hearing the Bat which drove the Dogs up a wall causing them to bark over and over. Once I got Charlie to stop squeezing the Bat and to read the book Charlie didn’t want to stop reading. Which is a Godsend because getting Charlie to read a book can be as hard as pulling teeth at times.
Are your children the same way? If so then you will want to sit down with your family and read Squeaky Bat (Squeeze & Squeak) together while discussing what you learned from the story line. Charlie and I’ve even used the images for our Homeschool Art Class.
I can’t wait until Halloween arrives and my niece Lily and my nephew Jason stop by then I can share Squeaky Bat (Squeeze & Squeak) with them. Although, if I know Lily and Jason the way I think I do they will ask to take the book home.
That will not happen as Charlie and I will be using this book when we celebrate Halloween in our home. As well as when we study Bats in our Homeschool Reading Class. Charlie even wants to use the book in his Art Class.
Press the bat to hear her squeak as she flies around on Halloween night in this adorable illustrated board book.
It’s Halloween, and Squeaky Bat can’t help but squeak with joy because it’s her favorite time of year! An adorable, squishy vinyl bat shows through cut-outs in the center of this book to appear on every page. Young readers will love squeezing the bat and hearing her squeak in this fun, rhyming board book!
About Maggie Fischer
Maggie Fischer is originally from Oregon, but now lives in Seattle, Washington after receiving her B.A. in English from Gonzaga University. The daughter of a children’s librarian, Maggie has grown up surrounded by books, and feels impossibly lucky to write and edit books for kids. She spends her time trying not to get worried about the increasing number of crows in her backyard, petting her enormous cat, Finch, and drinking more coffee than is probably healthy
Thank you,
