I love listening to new music and Charlie and David does as well. We use music in our Homeschooling Music class which is why I was excited to help you Spin the New Holiday Single from 123 Andrés and Divinity Roxx: Zoom Holiday Party. Have fun..
Latin Grammy winning duo 123 Andrés is grooving along with composer, musician and bass legend Divinity Roxx (former Musical Director for Beyoncé) to put together a holiday party that’s perfect for 2020. Yes, it’s a “Zoom Holiday Party,” complete with ugly sweaters, zany family members, and silly snafus.
Stream the song on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere listeners stream music.
123 Andrés and Divinity Roxx met when each of them had music featured in “Pre-K On My Way,” a new preschool curriculum launched by publishing giant Scholastic, and the three hit it off right away. “I got the idea during a Zoom meeting,” says Andrés, “and I knew right away that Divinity would be great to work together on this.”
“I love working with Andres and Christina and this song has been a fun way to close out the crazy year we’ve all had, ” says Divinity Roxx.
In the “Zoom Holiday Party” music video, catch 123 Andrés (Christina and Andrés) performing as half a dozen family characters, a kitschy talking tree, and Divinity Roxx’s signature style on bass guitar and quirky holiday rhymes like “Jingle bells, jingle bells, Zooming all the way.” These artists know how to party, even in the midst of a pandemic, and you, your cousins, and your Tío and Tía are invited.
The song reflects not only the virtual reality of 2020, but also the Latinx experience in the United States. “This song is like our real-life family gatherings,” says Christina, who grew up in the US in a Colombian immigrant family. “We have Villancicos and celebrate Nochebuena, and it seems like at every family gathering there’s always a distant cousin I’ve never met before… Is that just my family?” Zoom Holiday Party is part of an upcoming holiday album by 123 Andrés, combining original songs and classics that will run the gamut from silly to sentimental.
Zoom Holiday Party was mixed by rising star Fabian Rios, from Colombia, and mastered by Case Mastering (Kelly Clarkson, Missy Elliot, Alessia Cara), who gave it a radio-ready pop sound. It also features keyboard master Joseph “TheHandsOfSoul” Wooten, rocker Omar Gusmao and Yani Marin, wife of Divinity, and an accomplished singer, dancer and actress.
The experience of creating together was so successful that they are already working on their next collaboration, even though they’ve only ever met on Zoom.
