As a parent, there are things we want to teach our children, and for me, it is compassion and kindness for others. To do this as we Homeschool Charlie, I look for Charities we can work with, and I manage a Blog and Homeschool Charlie we have more opportunities to get out in the community and to give back to other.
Charlie and I were able to check out Speedway Children’s Charities for Laps for Charities and drive upon the Race Track while helping them raise money for this new Charity. I would like to let you know my family received the tickets in exchange for attending the event and sharing our thoughts on here
I am sure you’re wondering how we were able to help out if we had gotten free tickets and there were other ways. From purchasing photos in the Winners Circle which allowed my family to support them and have a picture showcasing the event or make a monetary donation. Laps for Charity is an event that happens each year, and our family already has plans to attend it next year.
I would like to tell you Charlie hasn’t stopped talking about this event since we went and drove our car around the track. It was so beautiful to hear his laughter in the backseat asking David to go faster. Now mind you David was going over 80 miles an hour and yes it was fun, but I was scared at times and wanted to get out. But I was able to complete all three laps, and like Charlie, I am ready to go back.
In fact, Charlie is going to ask his grandmother if we can use her Mustang next year because there was a lot of older cars on the track and he says it would fit in better than a van. As we finished David, Charlie and I went out and walked around to look at some of the cars and Charlie made lots of notes about the cars which will fit in perfectly with our lesson plans on Transportation.
I know David enjoys things when he begins talking about his work at the airport and the guys he wants to invite out to the event next year. David wants to get a team together to help raise money for the Charities while having a Guys Nite Out. WHich could leave Charlie out although Charlie and I can come out on our own and have a Mother / Son Date Night so I can’t wait to see what happens next year?
I would like to let you know as we walked away from this event Charlie was so excited that he wanted to discuss things we can study in school next year from Transportation to wind and how fast things go. As well as how children can become involved in Charities and why they would want to.
I am just beyond blessed in so many ways to have been able to bring my family out as I was able to fulfill Charlie’s dream of him becoming a Race Car Driver to David being able to see how it feels to drive on the track. For me, I was able to walk in places Suzzane had wanted to visit when she was alive. I could feel her riding along with us in the car as we sped around the track. The windows open and her and her friend singing at the top of there lungs.

In 2017, Speedway Children’s Charities distributed nearly $3.2 million in grants to more than 435 different charitable organizations across the country, bringing the total funds since 1982 to more than 52 million dollars, ensuring every child in need given the tools to build a better, brighter and healthy future.
I would like to ask if you and your family would help them raise the money to help these children.
Thank you,
