Spectacular Miracles of Nature

The Mommies Reviews

Spectacular: Miracles of Nature by Philippe Nessmann (Author), Alex Asfour (Illustrator) from 2Twirl Books (ChronicleKids.com) is another book I was blessed to receive in exchange for a review and we will be using this book in our Homeschool Science Class.

Charlie and I loved being able to look at the cover of Spectacular: Miracles of Nature of a beautiful Sky scene with Animals on the cover. Before you ask what kind I am not going to tell you because I want you to check out the book on your own. In the meantime, you should be prepared to get drawn in with the facts throughout the book or at least this is what happened to Charlie and I.

I like how Spectacular: Miracles of Nature is broken down into chapters which allows you to read the book all at one time or break the book down into chapters and read one or two a night. Which is what I do with Charlie who has trouble being still enough to read the whole book at one time. Are your children. like that?

When I finish working out what we will be studying this year in our Homeschool Science Class. Charlie, and I will be able to use Spectacular: Miracles of Nature to enhance our lesson plans. Charlie can’t wait to start with Mysterious Phenomena Map. While David can’t wait to read Strange Lakes.

For me personally I can’t wait to read the chapter on Life Is Beautiful! Which will allow us to use this section when studying States because it covers Australia and the Philippines. Don’t worry there is still a lot more for my family to read and learn from just as there is for you. So make sure and pick up your copy asap as its time to go back-to- school.

Spectacular: Miracles of Nature would make a wonderful Gift for Science Teachers and Libirans. As well as the perfect Gift to go under the Christmas Tree to keep children reading during the Holidays. If your children are like Charlie, they can use the pictures for art class and recreate the illustrations.

If you were to ask me what age Spectacular: Miracles of Nature is for I would say upper Elementary children although smaller children might like the illustrations and I can see Middle School, high school and college students using the book for school. As well as adults who can learn facts about the Earth to share with their friends and family.

Discover Earth’s amazing beauty! Pink lakes, giant crystal caves, ice flowers, and polar lights are some of the spectacular natural phenomena featured in this large format book. The stunning illustrations are accompanied by fascinating facts about the phenomena and the science behind them.
