The other day David, Charlie and I were on our way to Chisholm Aquatics Center in Hurst, Texas. When we was listening to the Radio and a commercial came on for Soulman’s Bar-B-Que. David let me know he had been hearing the commercial for week and then David asked why we hadn’t tried out Soulman’s Bar-B-Que.
I let David know I wasn’t sure why we hadn’t tried it when we all love Bar-B-Que and visiting new restaurant. As David drove I decided to look Soulman’s Bar-B-Que up to see where they was located on the way to Chisholm Aquatics Center. I was surprised to find Soulman’s Bar-B-Que in Hurst, Texas along with other locations in Dallas/ Fort Worth.
I mentioned to David that once we were done Swimming I would like to go and find Soulman’s Bar-B-Que so the next time we wanted Bar-B-Que we could try Soulman’s Bar-B-Que. We went on in and swam until Charlie was tired and mentioned he was hungry they we packed up and left to go home.
Once we had the car packed David asked me if I still wanted to look for Soulman’s Bar-B-Que. I let David know I would like to if he didn’t mind. I mentioned to David where I thought the restaurant might be and I was right.
Although I was a little disappointed once we found Soulman’s Bar-B-Que had taken over the building of Danny B’s Bar B Que which I loved. David was also sad to see this had happened.
After we found out Danny B’s had closed and that Soulman’s Bar-B-Que purchase the building. David asked me if I wanted to try Soulman’s Bar-B-Que. I said we could, and I would buy us lunch as I hadn’t done that in a while. We got Charlie to come inside with us and at first Charlie wasn’t going to eat as he wanted Danny B’s.
Although by the time we picked out what we wanted for Lunch Charlie had changed his mind. Charlie asked for Chicken Nuggets and French Fries which I ordered for Charlie. Once the Chicken Nuggets and Fries for Charlie arrived and we paid for our dinner and went to get our drinks we noticed they had free Ice-cream. Charlie and David both made Root Beer Floats.
Even though I do not usually eat Ice-cream when we are in a sit-down restaurant once we finished dinner, I tried the Ice Cream as well, and it was yummy. I can’t wait return to Soulman’s Bar-B-Que to have dinner and order more Ice Cream. Both Charlie or David can’t wait to return as well. Although we will need to take Ranch Dressing for Charlie because Soulman’s Bar-B-Que doesn’t carry Ranch Dressing and that upset Charlie.
As for eating at Soulman’s Bar-B-Que Charlie says he isn’t going to eat there again because they didn’t have Ranch Dressing for his Nuggets. I was surprised about that as people use Ranch Dressing on their Baked Potatoes so we asked Charlie if we brought our own Ranch Dressing if he would eat at Soulman’s Bar-B-Que in the future and Charlie said maybe. Now, let me let me tell you Charlie wasn’t too enthusiastic about returning to t Soulman’s Bar-B-Que.
I ordered the 2 Meat Plate and for the meat portion I chose Ribs and Sliced Brisket. I was amazed at how many slices of Brisket came on my plate. I liked knowing Soulman’s Bar-B-Que doesn’t put Barbecue Sauce on the meat because I prefer to not have Sauce on my meat.
Then the server asked me which side dishes I would like. I have a hard time choosing as there was so many I wanted to try out. Although I ended up choosing Potato Salad which I didn’t like, So the next time we visit Soulman’s Bar-B-Que I think I will get a Baked Potato and Fried Okra because I liked how they cooked the Okra fresh for me.
David chose a Stuffed Baked Potato which was huge, and I thought I had gotten pictures of the Potato but for some reason, I didn’t. I would like to tell you something that surprised me the Stuffed Baked Potato was so huge David almost couldn’t finish the whole thing. Which usually doesn’t happen as he eats all of his dinner and is still hungry.
