A song that Breaks My Heart could be any of the songs played at Suzzies funeral or at her 16th Birthday party. Or songs from my parents funeral. Instead I decided to share a song I have always liked that goes back to me being a teenager.

“Teen Angel” is a teenage tragedy song written by Jean Dinning and her husband, Red Surrey, and performed by both Jean’s brother, Mark Dinning, and Alex Murray in 1959.
“Teen Angel” was released in October 1959. The song was not an instant success, with radio stations in the U.S. banning the song, considering it too sad
Despite the reluctance of radio stations, the song continued to climb the charts. In the last week of 1959, the single jumped from #100 to #50 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Lyrics:
That fateful night,
The car was stalled
Upon the railroad tracks.
I pulled you out
And we were safe,
But you went running back.
[Chorus:]
Teen Angel, can you hear me?
Teen Angel, can you see me?
Are you somewhere up above,
And am I still your own true love?
[Verse 2:]
What was it you were looking for,
That took your life that night?
They said they found my high school ring
Clutched in your fingers tight…
[Chorus:]
[Verse 3:]
Just sweet sixteen,
And now you’re gone.
They’ve taken you away
I’ll never kiss your lips again
They buried you today…
(chorus) (2x)
Teen Angel… Answer me… Please…
