Skillets, Bakes and Casseroles

The Mommies Reviews

How are you today? As we begin a new week, I have been trying to decide on some fresh meals for this week that will not take a long time to make. Or use a lot of dishes as I have so many things to do.

I just want to get in and out of the kitchen as soon as possible. Because cooking this trailer up terribly and not having Central Heat and Air and depending on window units it doesn’t keep this place fresh. So Charlie, David and I end up sick.

We have been eating out more and more, and it cost up so much to do that, and it keeps us from being able to do things with Charlie. Or purchasing the items we need to fix up the inside of the trailer. So last night all three of us sat down and had a “Come to Jesus” meeting and no, matter how hot it is in here we are going to be cooking at home from now on. No, more going out to dinner unless it is a special occasion. Like David’s Birthday next week when we go to the movies and have dinner.

I can’t wait to see how much money we save in a month as I am sure it will be a couple of hundred dollars which will allow us to take a last minute trip somewhere or purchase a new couch which we need more than life itself. Or better than a sofa would be another window unit or two. Because with Charlie returning to school soon and it being to hot to sleep in here it will affect his grades. So be watching to see if we stay on track and can save money and what we purchase with the money we save.

I would like to ask you which recipe above would you want to make and why did you choose that one? Is there a particular brand of pans you use in your kitchen as I need to buy a new set and we can’t decide on which set to get. I was thinking of Rachel Ray or Pioneer Women as I had Martha Dean in the past and David didn’t like them. So I need something that he would like as he does most of the cooking in our household.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates

  1. Caramel Apple Biscuit Bake sounds delicious! What a shame I’m currently on a diet! I’ll definitely have to try this on my cheat day though! I like to cook with the slow cooker and stone pan; those two are my must-haves in the kitchen!

    1. I would love having a Stone Pan and I also use my slow cooker all the time.
Like you I am on a diet and have cheat days so let me know how yours works
out and if you make the Biscuits.
