I thought I would bring a Poetry book with you called Sitting On A Rock By Gary L. Brinderson I received for this review. Inside this post is my affiliate link if you click on the links and make a purchase I will make a small percentage from the products you purchase.
When Charlie was Homeschooling in his Language Arts Class he had lessons on Poetry and we used this book in our classes. I wish you could see the cover of the book with the Sun over the water and a rock jutting up which is so calming and a Poem in itself. Charlie enjoyed the book and even found a few poems like Shit Storm to share with his dad David. David let me know even though he doesn’t like Poetry that much these poems felt like they were talking to him.
I also enjoyed the Poems the Author shared with us and a lot of them made me feel happy after a bad day I had. My favorite poem was Acceptance because the Author reminds us it is the cornerstone of mental health. I printed out Definition of Friendship to give to my best friend who has been struggling with life.
I hope you take the time to look through this amazing Poetry book for adults but can be used to teach children poetry. Sitting On A Rock can be read by yourself or with a friend or family member to help you get to know each other better. I f your looking for a coffee-table book to sit out this is Sitting On A Rock is the book you need.
About the book:
Affirmation, kindness, love, and self awareness are the touchstones of Gary Brinderson’s poetry. In a deceptively simple, Zen-like style, Sitting on a Rock offers wise counsel, teaching us–just as he taught his students–that all of life’s answers can be found within. We only need to go and sit on a rock, and listen to our hearts.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
