September 21st is Batman Day #BatmanDay and Charlie and I would like to invite you to celebrate #batman with us. We can wear outfits from our favorite Batman movie. here is a fun fact for you. Batman Day is a global celebration. Picture the most timeless Superhero ever. I’m sure you’re picturing Batman and Batman only. Of course, we’re all aware of Batman’s epic look, his classic partner Robin, and his ever-popular Batmobile. Right?

Because of this, every year on the third Saturday in September, which falls on September 21st this year, we celebrate Batman and the ageless storytelling of Batman’s life through comic books and movies. Citizens of Gotham and of the world honor Batman’s legacy on this fun-filled day that celebrates a pop culture icon.

batman Day is celebrated across the globe due to Batman’s popularity in TV, film, and comics. For 80 years, Batman has gained popularity as a character who reflects justice for fans all over the world. This Batman Day, let’s celebrate by practicing our own Superhero qualities.

Batman’s success over the years makes him a household name, but Batman Day was created in 1939 and the day was originally in June in its first year but was moved around a few times allowing us to celebrate Batman Day on September 21st.

The first Batman Day was officially on July 23, 2014, to make sure Batman Day coincided with Comic-Con International in San Diego that year. At Comic-Con, Batman’s 75th year anniversary was celebrated through Batman merchandise sales, and participating stores sold Batman stock from four different eras of the protagonist’s career from the classic original to modern designs of Batman.

In 2015, special Batman publications and merchandise were released especially for Batman Day and it was discovered that the popularity of Batman Day compared to other characters including Wonder Woman and Superman, the humanistic component.

Did you know Batman is known to have no Superpowers though he is in fact viewed as a Superhero. Batman’s relatability, bravery, and pure athleticism over time gained the brand all its hardcore fans over the years.

The Bat signal became known worldwide, as one of the most identifiable images amongst other Superhero iconography, making Batman capable of transcending cultures and language throughout the world.

For the past five to six years, ‘’Warner Bros’’ and ‘‘DC Entertainment’’ have had Batman Day celebrations memorializing this classic character; This year’s Batman Day is promised to be the biggest and best one yet.

Traditions of the Day

Fans and comic-enthusiasts celebrate their love for the world’s number one detective on Batman Day. As DC Entertainment’s leading Superhero, Batman Day has been officially commemorated for half a decade now, in collaboration with Warner Bros.

Traditionally, Batman paraphernalia and merchandise are offered at partner retailers, and every year DC Entertainment goes all out to execute the most exciting events. In 2019, Bat-signals lit the skies in major Cities around the world including Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, and New York City — which is said to be the real-life Gotham City.

Did you see the signals because my family didn’t get to even though we would have liked to. Other recent events included Batman Story Time sessions at Barnes & Nobles chains and a Batman-themed 5 k marathon.

Batman Day is relatively new, there aren’t many time-honored traditions. But many Bat-fans, dress up as the caped crusader or famous villains in the Batman universe; the animated movies, feature films, video games, and comics are enjoyed; and die-hard fans spend the day curating their Batman collection and adding to it.

Batman Day Activities

  1. Watch the movies including ‘‘Dark Knight’’, ‘‘Joker’’, ‘‘Batman Forever’’, to ‘‘Batman and Robin’’, the choices are endless. You’re in for a treat because Batman movies are always epic and there’s just so much choice.
  2. There’s great star appearances from Jim Carey, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.
  3. Take the opportunity today to create your own Batman related costume or props. If you have kids, you can dress up together or read a Batman comic or book together.
  4. For the littlest Batman fan there’s Batman 5-minute stories, which are perfect for kids.
  5. There’s an archive of great Batman television shows dating back to 1966 you should take the opportunity to watch with your friends and family today.
  6. Many comic book stores are doing giveaways, signings, exclusive deals and lots more to honor the Dark Knight.
  7. Some libraries are also highlighting Batman Day by putting comics on display. Take the opportunity today to visit your local library and explore what’s there.

  1. The decision for Batman Day to be in September is still unexplained and as mysterious as Batman himself.
  2. In Washington DC, Tokyo, Berlin and Paris, Cities known as Gotham Cities, real life Bat signals are set to shine in the sky.
  3. Did you know there’s a Batman themed 5k Marathon planned for Batman Day in Los Angeles.
  4. Every year on Batman Day, a panel discussion with the Batman writers is held in New York.
  5. In 2019, there were uniquely two Batman days. March 30th and September 21st. Did you know that because I didn’t.
