Saturday evening once David came in from work and I asked David if he would like to attend a Art Show called Rollick After Dark with me. David asked where it was and I said on Race Street in Fort Worth.
David said it would be fun to walk around and look at the art and vendors who would be setting up. A we got ready I asked Charlie if he wanted to go with us but he decided to stay home.
I was glad Charlie did because it was so cold and windy and I wasn’t sure how much walking we would be doing. Even though some of the event was inside we would still be walking around outside and I didn’t want Charlie to get sick.
Spring Gallery Night on Race Street from 4-8 PM!
Below is the businesses that was involved in the event and David and I was able to check them all out and I would like to invite you to go and check them out so you can see (and purchase) great local art.
Race Street Gallery | Things Behind The Sun
2707 Race St #101, Fort Worth, TX 76111
Mical Mladen will show his works and celebrate the opening of his Gallery on Race Street! Which if we was still Homeschooling full time we would be taking Charlie to for a Field Trip.
Although Charlie wasn’t but both David and I enjoy Art Shows and discovering new artist and by attending the event this is what we was able to go.
I would like to let you know we was able to meet the guest Artists Alyssa Underwood & Taylor Pilkington who was featured at Things Behind The Sun.
Rawsome | Roasted at 2907 Race St Fort Worth, TX 76111 was one of the businesses I wanted to visit although they was packed when we walked by. Because they was hosting a Poetry Class which I would like to attend if they do it in the Future and I will bring Charlie with me.
They has a local potter, Keith Thomson, from Firehouse Pottery Studio, turn the wheel right before our eyes and was selling handmade ceramics. Although I wasn’t able to purchase any at this time.
As a gallery night special, Keith was making coffee mugs we could personalize with a selection of glaze colors. The finished mugs could be picked up within a few weeks!
I wish I had been able to get inside and check the coffee mugs out because I believe the would have made wonderful Mother’s and Father’s Day Gifts as well as Christmas Gifts.
THE TWISTED GYPSY | Rollick After Dark Artist Market was being held at 2914 Race St, Fort Worth, TX 76111 and this is the main reason I wanted to attend the event as I was looking for Gifts for our friends and family.
As we stopped by The Twisted Gypsy for there open air artist market! We were able to check out Teresa Foster, Gen Farrel and others showcasing and selling their works at “Rollick After Dark”. Jazz duo “Everybody’s Darling” will be serenading you as you explore.
David and I wanted to stop and listen to the Music there was so many people milling around that there was no, where for us to sit and relax with the food and wine we was able to sample.
Across the street David and I was able to sample Kneady Doughnuts. I would like to let you know they was celebrating their ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY (WOHOO!) with limited edition “adult” booze infused doughnuts.
David tried out the Champagne Mimosa and I had a plain Glaze Doughnut and we brought Charlie a Chocolate Doughnut home. Now, before you ask if I tried one with Booze no, I didn’t.
I did ask Kneady Doughnuts. if they made Doughnuts with Rum and they said they didn’t. I also didn’t see one with Rum or I would have tried it. I need to go back though because we arrived late in the afternoon and most of the Doughnuts was gone. Which is a good thing.
THE UNION AT RIVER EAST APARTMENTS 2900 Race St, Fort Worth, TX 76111 The Union’s bottom floor live/work spaces came alive with local artists Vanessa Dos Santos, Victor Mozqueda and Andrew Bradfield. Music by musician in residence, Ginny Mac.
There’s was so much to do and see that you need to attend the next time they host a event. I can tell you David and I will be returning to have Dinner as we found cute restaurants and Homemade Ice Cream as well as quite a few stores I would like to check out for Gifts for David and Charlie.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
