Press Release

Have you ever placed an order in a drive-through line after a difficult wait in-between his car..and her truck. Slowly moving , unanticipating a change in your routine. Just to finally get to the window and realize you left your card wedged underneath that stack of mail you brought in afterwork? I mean you were only supposed to pay your utilities and that was it.

Your reward was that double cheese, no pickle, large fry, Dr. Pepper, easy ice. Sure!! But at this moment, as the employee working the drive-through is waiting on your form of payment (staring into your soul), looking for  your very next move.

You’re panicking for a second and realize a sticker in the window that reads ” We accept Apple Pay “. Your heart Drops and as your appetite lingers. You have to politely and most utterly in awkward fashion tell the employee that you will be back for your food.

WAIT! NO YOU WON’T?! You’re upset with yourself and in that moment you realize that you could’ve had your phone pay for your meal if only you were thinking ahead instead of living in the moment. As the world turns and evolves at its own pace , one thing you have to realize is that it’s not like it used to be and paying for something as simple as a pack of gum can be as simple as just having that iPhone ready.

Cash Is Only Good Spent

When you think of a one dollar bill, what comes to mind ? For me it’s just the undersized white wig on a deceased former president of ours. Nothing Less. You used to be able to see a dollar and easily find its value at the store if you broke things down. A soda pop, a piece of candy, some vegetable seeds right ?

Nowadays that Dollar better have a family because prices have Soared in the last Decade due to things like inflation of goods and the Economical Depression. It wasn’t until the first credit card processor was developed back in the 60’s to 70’s formerly known then as the imprinter when we started to advance from that simple dollar bill of ours. Now payments were being processed with a small rectangular piece of plastic with your Bankholders information carved into it. Things were faster and more efficient when it came to sales and movement of product

Fast forward a couple of years and we are introduced to the EMV Standard chip on top of all American Credit or Debit. Now not only can we pay for our wants and needs but , it was even faster to Dominate that slight second of purchase. Just stick the tip of your card within the terminals slot and just like that . AUTHORIZED.

And out came your receipt. Easy Right ? Simplicity rules the Nation. Understanding the series of events transporting right before your very eyes , is what we need to evaluate more thoroughly.

Blood Sweat and Years

Just think of how the wheel keeps turning and turning. First, to pay for something we didn’t have whether we needed it or not , we had to go out and work for it. As payment , we received a thin piece of paper approved by the government. 1s , 5s, 10s, 50s, and Hundreds.

It feels nice in your pocket, knowing that all it takes is a decision based on impulse.

I make them all the time. Now imagine having all your riches on a piece of trusted plastic , backed by some people you consider to be part of your backbone . Right, if things get rough, I will.. Hold that thought. Because who even told us that our money was guaranteed even if we worked for it. Maybe one locked door , some policy concerns and an upper level effort of holding your currency for the moment seems intimidating. What are you going to do , break into the bank to get what’s yours ? Let’s be realistic. These credit cards are being left behind and mimicked onto our cell phones through a trusted process known as an Electronic Transaction.

It’s OK to leave your wallet nowadays , just have your phone on you . Battery on 33 % Pardon me , I laughed a little. All this hysteria and I wonder , what’s next ?

Inserting a chip inside our skin to allow us to purchase something else ? Right.
