This is the third part of my post from visiting Razzoo’s Trinchero Wine Tasting allowed us to learn about 5 different WINES and I must tell you I learned so much about the wines that I am not afraid to order a glass the next time we go out to dinner. Or to purchase wine for the dinners we create in our home. In fact David has asked to join a wine of the month club which I will be purchasing for him for Christmas.
As I begin my day I wanted to share the wines we was able to try at the Taste Testing and before we begin if there is a wine on here you have tried leave me a comment and let me know what you thought of the wine and why. Or if there is one you see on there you would like to try out let me know why as well. Or if you see a wine and can think of a perfect food to pair it with leave me a comment as I am all about learning about wines.
Prosecco Avissi was the first wine we sampled and we was told Avissi is known as The Pride of VENETO. Once we got in from the Wine tasting at Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe I was able to share a fun tidbit with Charlie about Avissi which I knew Charlie would find intriguing because he is a avid car love and dreams of wanting a Ferrari one day. Before you ask me where is Charlie going to get that kind of money all I can say is I don’t know. But let Charlie dream while he can. I have a question for you have you heard of Avissi and if so did you know this wine from the country that gave us Ferrari and Fellini?
David liked Avissi a lot as he said it wasn’t dry but a tad sweet but the sweetness didn’t overpower the flavor of the wine. Once we held Avissi up to the light we liked being able to almost see through the wine because it is a nice light color. David and I were able to taste not only Apple but Pear. Then we was told there was also Honesuckle in this wine which I thought I tasted but David says he didn’t. Before we go on I would like to let you know Avissi is 100% made from Giera grapes grown in the Veneto reign.
David and I discussed Avissi and he let me know this wine would pair well with Fruit like Pears and Apples which we could taste. As for me I agree with David although I also think Avissi would go well with Strawberries. As for the ladies at my table they enjoyed Avissi as well and said the next time they are out to dinner they will ask for a bottle of Visssi. David wants to purchase this wine for our wine cabinet. Although David doesn’t know it yet, I plan on purchasing one of every wine we tried for him for Christmas.
Because Avissi is a delectably fresh sparkling wine in every glass, Avissi captures the best of Italian style— sexy and elegant, easygoing and friendly, delicious and delightful. Avissi is born to drink young, when the fruit flavors and aromas are at their very freshest. The name “Avissi” comes from the delightfully fizzy sound the bubbles make as they happily rise in the glass.
Pinot Grigio, Three Pears was my favorite wine out of all the ones we tried. Not only did I enjoy the taste of Three Pears but I liked the bottle and label they used to brand there wine with. When I drink wine either at home or a restaurant I always choose Pinot Grigio and it will be nice to know of a actual brand to ask for instead of just bring me anything you have. Or walking down a aisle in a liquor store and saying I like that label lets try it out. Because most of the time I don’t like what we purchase and it goes to waste unless David finishes the bottle for me.
Three Pears comes from Northern California which is on my bucket list and if I ever make it to California I might be able to see where Three Pears is made which would be fun. Inside Three Pear you will find Pinot Grigio Grapes. Three Pears was a white wine which both David and I prefer because they are sweet and not as dry as a red wine can be. As you can tell from the label you will taste Pears but something you might not know is you will also taste baked apples. Which is perfect for the upcoming Fall Tailgating Parties most of us attend.
Chardonnay, Pomelo before they poured us a glass of Chardonnay, Pomelo David saw the label and reminded me I might not want to try it out as it had LEMONS on the label and I don’t care for Citrus Fruits and drinks. I passed on Chardonnay, Pomelo but once David tasted it he said the lemon flavor wasn’t strong and he thought I might enjoy the taste. So I asked him for a sip and after tastingChardonnay, Pomelo I found I liked the flavor and wouldn’t mind purchasing it for the dinner parties we host.
Chardonnay, Pomelo comes from California so I am telling you we need to hit the road so I can do some Wine Tasting Trips because I know you all would follow along with David and I. Wouldn’t you? So you know you will not be overpowered with the Lemons you will also taste Peaches and a crisp Apple making this the perfect Wine for Fall as well. Especially on the chilly evenings when your sitting in front of the fireplace.
2104 Charles & Charles Rose Columbia Valley, Washington as a Homeschooling mom we all take Field Trips and visiting Washington should be on the top of our list and with Charles & Charles Rose being produced in Washington and being my sons name and my daughters favorite color. I believe it is fate that we go to Washington to see where they produce 2014 Charles & Charles Rose .
As soon as David saw Charles & Charles Rose was a Rose wine he couldn’t wait to try it out as he wanted to see what the flavor was like. Once they poured him a sample and he held the glass up to the light he said I like this it has good legs. Now, before you ask me what David meant about that you would have to ask him as he is the Wine Connoisseur not me. Although our host agreed with David and I am proud to say David impressed this gentleman a lot and this event brought David out of his shell and has gotten him to agree to do more with me. As he has seen the blog can be a family fair not just something I do for fun.
As I read through the notes I liked knowing they picked the grapes during a low sugar time because I know a lot of people that can’t have a lot of sugar. If you haven’t seen Charles & Charles Rose in person it is almost a Fuchsia color and if it can’t be purple then it should be some shade of pink which this wine was. Inside this bottle you might taste Strawberries, Raspberries or Bing Cherries.
I liked the label Charles & Charles Rose has strips on it in pink and white.. As well as the name up in the left hand corner reminding me of the US Flag. The label was designed by Hatch Show Print, the legendary poster shop from Nashville, Tn. where a friend of mine visits a couple times a year and has invited me to go with her. If I am able to visit this State I plan on looking up Hatch Show Print and getting posters for David and Charlie. As for this bottle of wine Hatch Show Print let us know the label is an abstract Flag.
Cloudfall 2016 Pinot Noir and I thought this was the cutest name ever for a wine. Yes, it is a WHITE WINE but it wasn’t dry nor was it to sweet. David and I liked the flavor Cloudfall 2016 Pinot Noir a lot. In fact David plans on purchasing Cloudfall 2016 Pinot Noir for his boss for Christmas. This is one wine that is perfect for any meal you make. You should be able to find Cloudfall 2016 Pinot Noir in most restaurants as it is a restaurateur’s pocket wine. If you wonder what this means leave me a comment and I will be happy to explain.
Now here is something I bet you wouldn’t think of this wine has strong aromas of cranberry, and cherry cola one of my favorite drinks. So you know I enjoyed this Cloudfall 2016 Pinot Noir a lot. I think Cloudfall 2016 Pinot Noir was almost my favorite wine and I could see serving it on a Girls Night. Cloudfall 2016 Pinot Noir wine comes from Monterery County another new place for us to visit. I just hope David can take all this time off.
Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon for me this was my Uncles name and it was fun to sample this wine as it reminded me of him and how much I miss him. Although I know if he had been here he would have loved joining me this evening. As he loved all types of wines and Cajun Food. In fact having him with me would have been the perfect date night although I would have brought David along as well so they could spend time together and get to know each other better.
As soon as the gentleman started talking aboutJoel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon and that it had a sent of Vanilla in it I knew I wanted to try this wine out because I love anything with Vanilla in it including desserts and coffee. Once David tasted Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon he noticed a Cherry Cola flavor right away and said Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon would be perfect with a Dark Red Cherry. For me I tasted a hint of Strawberry so David let me know if we serve Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon we would need to make Fruit Tray.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
