I share a little bit about Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe with you earlier and the decorations and art inside the building. As well as a few tidbits about where it is located. So this morning as I was sitting here I knew I wanted to share Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe Trinchero Dinner Tasting Menu with you. Now, before I do I would like to share a tidbit with you about me.
One I do not like Seafood of any kind and will not even try it. Although David loves it and Charlie will eat Shrimp. So if a Seafood restaurant doesn’t carry steak we will not eat there. Also if the restaurant smells like Fish I will leave as it bothers my stomach. Although with Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe I didn’t have that problem and with Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe I was able to find food I would eat and that I enjoyed a lot.
Prosecco, Avissi Wine was served with Gulf Oyster & Peel & Eat Shrimp for me I didn’t try this dish out. Although the lady sitting next to me tried the Gulf Oyster and she said they was very good and she would like to order the Gulf Oysters in the future. The Peel & Eat Shrimp David tried which David loved the taste of the Shrimp.
The breading they used was crunch but not to crunchy. The lady next to me also enjoyed the Peel & Eat Shrimp. David and this lady both mentioned they would order the Peel & Eat Shrimp when they visit Razzoo’s Cajun Restaurant in the future.
Pinot Grigio, Three Pear Wine served with Rat Toes, Shrimp and Crab Stuffed Jalapenos. I must confess when I saw the name Rat Toes I wasn’t sure I wanted to see what this dish consisted of because I wasn’t sure if they really were Rat Toes.
I hadn’t seen the menu before we arrive so I was surprised to learn of a dish called Rat Toes because I can’t stand anything at all to do with Rats. Which was the way some of the other guests felt as well. When the Rat Toes arrived and everyone tried this dish. Once they tasted this recipes the name went out the door and everyone said they would order Rat Toes in the Future.
I can’t have Spicy Foods so I didn’t try Rat Toes out although I can tell you I could smell the peppers once David cut into his dish. David said the Rat Toes were spicy but not so spicy people wouldn’t eat Rat Toes. Now would this keep David from trying ordering Rat Toes in the future.
Becky from a fellow blogger from Fort Worth and is the write for The Java Momma is like me. Becky doesn’t care for Seafood. Becky did cut into Rat Toes. Which Becky ate some of the Jalapeno Pepper as she did Becky let me know she enjoyed the taste of Rat Toes and the breading they used.
Chardonnay, Pomelo was served with Gumbo. I have a question for you. Did you know Gumbo can be made with Chicken or Shrimp? I didn’t but Becky, David and I ordered Chicken Gumbo and all three of us enjoyed this Gumbo a lot.
Although the Gumbo was a tad bit spicy which I had expected I was still able to eat the Chicken Gumbo and I would order this dish in the future. Becky’s friend ordered the Shrimp Gumbo and she says it was perfect. The Chicken Gumbo had the right amount of Shrimp and she enjoyed the Broth a lot. I can’t wait to order the Chicken Gumbo in the future. David says he plans on trying Shrimp Gumbo next time because David likes trying new dishes when we eat out.
Rose, Charlies & Charles was served Blackened Shrimp and Cheddar Corn Grits. David loves ordering Grits for breakfast although neither of us have ever thought of ordering Grits for dinner. I hadn’t ever tried Grits which I didn’t think they would be something I would enjoy.
Although the other night with these Grits having Cheese and Corn in them I tried the Grits. I enjoyed the Grits a lot and would make these Grits for dinner in our home which I think Charlie and David both would enjoy having Grits prepared this way.
Becky tried Blackened Shrimp and Cheddar Corn Grits. Becky also enjoyed the Grits. Like me Becky was able to take the Shrimp off the top of the Grits. Which we gave to the guests who enjoyed the Shrimp a lot. Becky’s friend and David said they would order the Grits in the future. Because they enjoyed the taste of Cheese and Corn. Most everyone thought the Grits had a Smoky Taste which reminded them of Bacon although there wasn’t Bacon in the Grits.
Pinot Noir, Cloudfall was served with Blackened Chicken Pasta, Creole Cream Sauce Becky and I couldn’t wait to taste this dish which was something both of us would eat. The dish arrived I tasted the Creole Cream Sauce which I loved on the Pasta. I also liked the shape of Paste they used which is one of my favorite Pasta shapes. This dish wasn’t spicy. I think Charlie would enjoy both the Chicken and Pasta as well. I wish I knew how to make this recipe at home for my family.
Becky also tried the Blackened Chicken Pasta, Creole Cream Sauce. Becky enjoyed this dish just as much as I did. Both of us wished we had a bigger sampling of the Blackened Chicken Pasta, with Creole Cream Sauce. David tasted Blackened Chicken Pasta, Creole Cream Sauce which David thought was so good and asked if we return if I would order Blackened Chicken Pasta, Creole Cream Sauce and share the dish with him. I would be happy to do. Becky’s friend also enjoyed this dish. She let us know she would order it in the future. As long as I didn’t eat to much of the Pasta and Cream Sauce it would be okay on my diet.
We came to the dish David had been waiting for all night. Although I would have thought it would be the dessert which was a Whipped Cheesecake, filling Strawberries, Pecan Graham Cracker Crust. Though this desert wasn’t what David couldn’t wait to try it was Andouille Sausage, Red Beans and Rice. David tried and said I shouldn’t try this dish which was to spicy for me. I did take a tiny bite of the Sausage which had a good taste but David was right the Sausage was to hot for me. This would have bothered my stomach if I had eaten more of it.
Becky didn’t try the Andouille sausage and Red Beans and Rice because Becky doesn’t eat Sausage or Beef. Becky’s friend did and she enjoyed this dish a lot. She said this was her favorite meal of the evening. David also said it was one of his favorites and something he wanted to order Andouille Sausage, red beans and rice for his lunch the next day. Instead of ordering any we plan on returning and bringing Charlie down for dinner. Andouille Sausage, red beans and rice was served with Cabernet, Joel Gott.
The last dish we had was the Whipped Cheesecake, filling Strawberries, Pecan Graham Cracker Crust, I tried the Cheesecake because I love Graham Cracker Crust. I don’t like Strawberries or Cheesecake this one was so creamy and not overpowered with Strawberries that I would order it in the future.
David was a true gentleman and shared my dessert with me. David could let Becky have his and so did her friend. Once Becky tried the Whipped Cheesecake filled with Strawberries and Pecan Graham Cracker Crust Becky said she had thought she had died and gone to heaven.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
