Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe

The Mommies Reviews

Our family was invited out to Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe in Burleson, Texas to try their delicious food. David was worried that there wouldn’t be anything for me to eat since I can’t have Spicy Foods. Before we went, I took a look at the menu and found a lot of meals I couldn’t wait to try. Including a Hamburger and Pork Chops.

Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe in Burleson is about 45 minutes from our home. Yes, there are closer locations, but I’ve seen so much happening in Burleson. That I couldn’t wait to go down because it was in the Town Sqaure and would allow us to walk around. Spending time as a family away from electronics and would be a Homeschool Field Trip for Charlie.

We walked up to Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe which we all liked the Patio which will be nice to sit out on once it’s cooler. We walked up to the door which was opened for us. They we went to the Hostess Stand and let them know who we were to see. We went back into the entrance and sat down on the bench.

David and I had fun looking around while Charlie enjoyed the music. David was so excited when he spotted Stevie Ray Vaugn on the wall. David enjoyed seeing the bar and all the drinks being made. The hostess called our name and asked if we wanted to sit at a table or bench. We choose a bench.

We sat down and our waitress cam e right over to take our drink orders. David ordered a Draft while Charlie asked for a Dr. Pepper. I asked for a glass of Sweet Tea even though I found a lot of drinks I would like to try. David\s Beer was part of their Happy Hour Special which we can’t wait to come back and try some of the appetizers on it.

Before we arrived at the restaurant Charlie had let us know he wasn’t going to eat because there wouldn’t be anything he liked. David and I opened our menus. Charlie helped David ride through the list. Charlie let his dad know he wanted either the Poor Boy Sandwich or a Hamburger if they didn’t have Chicken Strips.

David said he would like to try Cajun Fried Steak but instead of Mashed Potatoes David would like French Fries. I let David and Charlie know I would like to have the Moonshine Pork Chops Fried Chops which came with Mashed Potatoes, Jalapeno Cheese Sauce, Moonshine Apples. While we waited for our food to arrive, we enjoyed visiting and people watching.

Dinner arrived and all of us was amazed at our plates. Charlie’s Po” Boy was full of Fried Shrimp. Charlie’s sandwich did come with Tomatoes. Charlie didn’t even fuss about them. Charlie dove right into the sandwich and kept telling us how good it was. Charlie gave David a bite and David said when we come back, he will order this as well.

Charlie loved the French Fries. Being 16 most of the time it’s hard to fill Charlie up but we didn’t have that problem with Charlie’s Po’ Boy and French Fries even with David sharing Charlie had leftovers to bring home. Mind you that could be because Charlie ate some of mine and David’s dinners as well. Which is fine because we always should share.

David’s Cajun Fried Steak with Andouille Cream Gravy with French Fries arrived. David asked for the Gravy on the side. Then I could taste the Cajun Fried Steak. Which was amazing and wasn’t too hot that I couldn’t eat it. David liked the Cajun Fried Steak and there was enough to share with Charlie. Foe me it would have made two meals. The Andouille Cream Gravy wasn’t hot like I thought it would be.

Moonshine Pork Chops Fried Chops arrived, and I had the Jalapeno Cheese Sause put on the side which David used with his meal. The Pork Chops had a lot of flavors, but they were a tad hot. I was afraid to eat them. David took them and before we knew what was happening Charlie took a bite of them and ended up taking them for himself. I forgot to let David know they used Moonshine or he would have had these as well.

I decided to have dessert since I only ate the Mashed Potatoes which I shared with Charlie and the skins didn’t even bother him or David. I ordered The Mud Sundae, which is a Warm Brownie with Ice Cream, Whipped Cream & Chocolate Sauce. This is enough to share but thank the LORD I didn’t have to because Charlie doesn’t eat Sweets and David ordered his own Dessert.

David was torn between the Bread Pudding made with Rum Sauce and Zydeco Dancer which is layers of Cheesecake Filling and Strawberry on a Pecan Graham Cracker Crust but choose Zydeco Dancer. Zydeco Dancer arrived, I had to sneak a bite of the Crust which was so good. Charlie loved this and let me know it reminded him of a Deconstructed Cheesecake. David hasn’t stopped talking about this desert and is ready to go back. Which is amazing for someone that isn’t huger on sweets.

Charlie hasn’t stopped talking about the restaurant and all the food he would like to try. Which never happens because Charlie doesn’t like going out in public. Charlies’ birthday is December 16th, and he turns 16. I think I’m going to host his Family Birthday Party here during Happy Hour. Would you like to come with us?

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
