Purple Rain Movie Party

The Mommies Reviews

Life works in mysterious ways and things happen that we wouldn’t normally expect to happen. Which is what happened last night when I was preparing to go to Alamo DraftHouse for Purple Rain Movie Party.

Purple Rain

When I asked for the tickets to see Purple Rain Movie Party in exchange for a post I didn’t know Debbie and Alyssa would be blogging with me. I thought David, Charlie and one of his friends would go with me to see Purple Rain Movie Party

Although, God had different plans because Charlie said he didn’t want to go. I asked Alyssa to come with me and she said her husband David might want to see Purple Rain Movie Party or she would bring her friend.

That isn’t what happened David and even Charlie went with me. Along with Alyssa and my sister Debbie joined us. Which I was excited about because we usually don’t get to do things together.

Once we arrived and found our seats Debbie and Alyssa were excited to find the Props we had to use. From a Blow Up Guitar to Light Sticks. I enjoyed seeing Alyssa get into the movie and use the Glow Sticks and to do the things we were asked to do.

More than that though I enjoyed the night out watching Purple Rain Movie Party which is one of my favorite movies with my family. I liked knowing inside this movie it was okay to sing.

I enjoyed seeing and hearing Charlie who know all of the songs and would sing and dance in his chair. I even caught David singing a bit. As for me I couldn’t sit still I wanted to jump up and dance.

There was a couple parts of Purple Rain Movie Party (nudity) which made Charlie uncomfortable so we left. Charlie and I went out to the Patio and played a couple games then went back in and finished watching Purple Rain Movie Party .

I liked how the movie got Charlie more interested in Prince and his music. Charlie was looking up facts about Prince when we got home. If we had been Homeschooling still we could have designed a lesson around Prince, his genre of music or even Domestic Abuse which the mom in the movie was.

If you haven’t seen Purple Rain I hope you take the time to watch it one day. As well as listen to the Music because Prince is a wonderful artist and has a lot to say if your willing to listen.

PAY TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE, THE MUSIC AND THE LEGACY OF PRINCE.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here 2day 2 get through this thing called life — and to celebrate the legacy of the visionary and singular musical force that was Prince.

PURPLE RAIN is the semi-autobiographical tale of The Kid, a Minneapolis musician navigating the club scene while dealing with a romantic rival and a difficult family life. A massive hit upon release, it’s a showcase for the Purple One’s otherworldly musical, visual and sartorial stylings, and introduced the world to the glory of “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” and of course, “Purple Rain.” We’ll be enjoying these songs with glowsticks, streamers and tambourines that are included with your ticket!

As the man himself once sang, “U better live now.” Words 2 live by.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
