Children’s books have a special place in my HEART and animal’s which is why I was excited to receive a copy of Pout Party by Sara McColl in exchange for this review. You can purchase the book on Amazon

I don’t know about you but today is one of those day I would like to crawl back into bed and pull the covers over my head. I hurt someone’s feelings yesterday I never wanted to hurt. I had to put myself and my family first which made me backout on plans I had made with her. Homeschool and my job has to come first and walking next. Not first.

Charlie could tell I was upset and still sad over what happened. Charlie came downstairs to sit with me on the couch. Knowing how much I like to read Charlie handed me my copy of Pout Party by Sara McColl and said he would read this children’s book with me. I opened the book up and got ready to read the story, but Charlie offered to read this book to me.

By the time we got to the end of Pout Party I felt so much better I knew I had done what was best for my family. Charlie let me know we needed to add Pout Party to our Homeschool Library so anytime we are sad or someone we know is upset we can share Pout Party with them. As well as share it with my nieces and nephews because this Dog looks a lot like Charlie’s Dog Angel who passed away allowing Charlie to share stories about her with Lily and Jason.

Charlie also wanted me to let you know this Dog has a new and unusual name Rue which we hadn’t heard of before, but we liked it a lot. Do you know of anyone named Rue? Do you think it’s a boy or a girl name and why? Charlie loved learning all the way’s Rue felt which he has witnessed in the past.

Through Pout Party by Sara McColl Charlie and I’ve learned its okay to host a pout party and that it can even be fun as long as we don’t exclude the people we love. If you will excuse Charlie and I were going to practice making grouchy faces for our party in our Homeschool Drama Class. Would you like to join us at our Pity Party?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: POW! Kids Books is proud to present the January 17 release Pout Party by Sara McColl

Pout Party is a story that playfully portrays how difficult it can be to put your best foot forward when you’ve woken up on the wrong side of the bed.

Poor Rue wakes up on the wrong side of the bed. Nothing makes her happy. Even her socks aren’t cooperating. When she gets to school, all her friends want to play, but she’s not in the mood. Instead, she invites everyone to join her in a pout party. “No games, no cake. Don’t be happy or excited.” Unfortunately, everyone thinks Rue’s party sounds fun, and they all come to show off their biggest pouts. In no time at all, everyone is laughing, but will Rue find the humor when all she wants to do is grumble?

Illustrated in beautiful, bright pastels, Pout Party is a sweet, funny story for every kid who has ever felt out of sorts and needs a smile.
