Saturday morning, my family was able to attend our first movie at Alamo DraftHouse in NRH, We attended the Pokemon Detective Pikachu Cereal Party
I would like to tell you Saturday mornings were made for this! David, Charlie and I were able to see Pokemon fans enjoy their favorite characters on the big screen along with an all-you-can-eat cereal buffet!
Even though the event was happening on Saturday at all 6 DFW locations. My family went to the NRH location. It was fun to see everyone in Pajamas which the audience is encouraged to wear.
I went and bought Charlie a shirt and hat because he didn’t want PJ’s. Although after getting inside the audience where Charlie saw adults dressed up Charlie let me know next time he is going to as well.
Charlie, David and I enjoyed seeing Pikachu in the audience which we could get pictures with. Then we took a picture inside a Card. One the way home Charlie asked if we could host a Pikachu party and make cards like they had in the Theater.
I let Charlie know we could do that this weekend when were playing Pokemon Go! Charlie also asked if we could pick up a book about Pokemon for Charlie to read this week. I loved hearing that because it gives Charlie the opportunity to practice his reading.
I loved walking down the Hall to the Theater we would be in seeing all of the Posters of movies I had seen as a child. Which I was able to share with my family.
David pointed out the restaurant and Bar which we plan on having dinner at the next time we see a Movie here. Charlie pointed out the Party Room which I think would be a lot of fun to host a Birthday party not only for Charlie but David as well.
We went on into the Theater and sat down the Usher came and took our order. Then we went down and picked out the Cereal we wanted. I loved the variety and seeing they offered us both Whole Milk and 2%allowing my family to have our favorite milk.
Once the movie began Charlie didn’t move until it was over which told me Charlie liked the film and it would be a movie he would watch again and again.
Don’t tell anyone but I even saw David shed a tear which showed me David also enjoyed the movie. Now, before you ask yes, I also enjoyed the movie and wouldn’t mind picking up a copy to add to my Library of movies.
In the meantime Charlie wants to bring his friends back this weekend to see
Pokemon Detective Pikachu Cereal Party but Charlie has to wait because I want to attend North Richland Hills Screening: Elton John Video Dance Party at 7:00PM
I’m sure David and Charlie will watch North Richland Hills Screening: Elton John Video Dance Party at 7:00 PMwith me once I share with them what all will be happening in this Theater. I just wish I had a costume to wear.
WITH AN ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT CEREAL BUFFET!
Your ticket includes the cereal buffet, which is available throughout the entire film. Pajamas are encouraged!
When word got out that a DETECTIVE PIKACHU film was in the works, you could be forgiven for feeling a bit of skepticism about it. After all, taking a well-known children’s franchise and turning it into a hybrid live-action/animated film hasn’t always yielded the greatest achievements in cinema history. But then that magical trailer landed, and it turned out that DETECTIVE PIKACHU doesn’t just look good. It looks incredible.
The film takes place in Ryme City, a busy, bustling metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side-by-side but are unable to communicate with one another. Tim (Justice Smith, PAPER TOWNS) is a human whose detective father has gone missing. When his father’s partner, Detective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds, DEADPOOL), shows up, Tim realizes he can actually understand what this Pokémon is saying (and man, he can talk). A friendship is forged, and the two embark on an adventure to find Tim’s father that will bring them up against some of the most fierce Pokémon imaginable.
If you’re trying to figure out why you’re this excited about a Pokémon film, even if you’re not a die-hard fan of the franchise, it likely has to do with the A-list team behind it. From a director with a solid track record of family films (Rob Letterman, GOOSEBUMPS), an Oscar-nominated cinematographer (John Mathieson, LOGAN), and a team of hilarious writers (including GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY scribe Nicole Perlman), DETECTIVE PIKACHU is a funny, exciting, and thoroughly original thrill-ride that will delight Pokémon fans and newcomers alike.
DIRECTOR Rob Letterman STARRING Ryan Reynolds, Suki Waterhouse
AGE POLICY 18 and up; Children 3 and up will be allowed only with a parent or guardian until 6:00 pm. After 6:00 pm, children 6 and up will be allowed only with a parent or guardian. No children under the age of 3 will be allowed and families with loud children will be asked to leave.
CALLING ALL DANCERS, TINY OR OTHERWISE!
We’ve all been there: wandering aimlessly around the city, wearing giant sunglasses and a sparkly jacket with garish feathers sticking out of it, wondering, “Where do I fit in?”
Well, you can rest assured that there are no sunglasses too big, no jacket too plumaged for your friends here at Alamo Drafthouse. To prove it, we’re throwing a party in honor of the most ostentatiously attired knight to ever walk the Earth, Sir Elton John, and his exciting new biopic, ROCKETMAN.
Because this is a Dance Party, you and your friends have the entire theater (and fun props) at your disposal. So you can pound the keys on our inflatable keyboards, then sing and dance through the aisles, all backed by some of the greatest rock anthems of all time. Whether you’re fist-pumping to “Bennie and the Jets” or swaying tearfully to “Candle in the Wind,” it’s going to be an unforgettable experience.
So throw on your electric boots and mohair suit and join us for a magical night with a magical knight.
Please, excuse Charlie and I as we head to our local Dollar Store and Party Store to pick up some props to bring with us to this movie premier because we wouldn’t fit in without a pair of Sunglasses.
