Before the day gets away from us I wanted to share our @PictureoftheDayChallenge January 12th, 2023. Charlie asked us to share a picture of New Years Eve and how you celebrated the holiday in your home. I must tell you for us it was a New Years like no, other we’ve had. Charlie was in bed before 9 and David was by 8pm.
I was on the couch watching movies with the dogs. There was no, Black Eyed Peas cooking on the stove because David said a can would work. Not wanted I wanted but again it was time to pick my battles. We forgot to pick up a bottle of Welch’s Sparkling Grape Juice to toast the New Year with for the first time ever.
As 11:45 I went into the kitchen to warm up the can of Black Eyed Peas in the Microwave got a glass of Milo’s Sweet Tea and went back to the couch. I opened the front door for the bad omens to leave and David comes down and shuts the door. I re-open it and Charlie shuts it. Again I had to pick my battles.
At least David was up and he ate one Black Eyed Pea with me. As for Charlie I didn’t even ask him because I knew he would throw a fit. I ate my bowl and went outside to listen to the Fireworks going off and Charlie came down and took the Black Eyed Peas leaving us none for New Years but that was find because David’s mom was going to send me a bowl of her Black Eyed Peas.
I came back inside and Charlie went upstairs to get on his game and David went back to bed. I went and picked up my book to read but ended up falling asleep after wishing Charlie a Happy New Years. New Years Day we didn’t even cook we just snacked and didn’t have anyone over. Charlie stayed upstairs. David worked and watched tv when he got home and I did the same thing.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
