As a mom of 52 with a 10-year old, I’m always mistaken for Charlie’s grandmother which I hate. This makes me embarrassed and makes me wonder if I embarrass Charlie.
The sad part is David is a year younger than I am. He’s never asked if he is Charlie’s grandfather. David thinks it is funny when people do this and he doesn’t realize it hurts my feelings.
Charlie doesn’t understand or even hear people when they ask me this. I want this to stop. I want to be referred to as Charlie’s mom not his grandmother.
Because I don’t want to embarrass Charlie as he gets older which I’m afraid Charlie will not want to be around me or even go places with me because of the way I look or dress. Or even talk.
