Sunday was pretty uneventful Charlie started to feel better, and we thought my dad was doing better. So I thought life was returning to normal. Well, let me tell you that that wasn’t what was happening. Here we are with part 3 more of our Weekend Happenings.
Another Storm hit as I was sitting in a roll around chair watching a movie with Charlie when the chair tipped over with me. I bumped my back and thought I was OK because I could sit up. I could even get up off the floor without any help and went to pick the chair back up when I screamed, and tears started pouring out of my eyes because what I hadn’t noticed was I couldn’t move my left arm without being in horrible pain.
Charlie came running to ask what was wrong and I said I had hurt my shoulder. Charlie runs and grabs the phone and calls David at work who insist I call his mom and have her take me to the doctor. I refuse to do because I wanted David to check my arm before I went to the doctor.
Finally, we hear David drive up, and he walks in I have him get me some Tylenol. Which I take it and crawl into bed. I end up sleeping off and on until the next morning. When Charlie should be going to school although since Charlie had a doctor note I kept him home and he helped me with the things I needed to do since I couldn’t use my arm.
Although from letting my arm rest both days, it was starting to get a little bit better. Unless I move a certain way, then it hurts, and all I can do is stand there till the pain subsides. I don’t tell David or Charlie this because I don’t want them to worry as they have enough to worry about.
As I was sitting at the desk while Charlie fixed us breakfast my phone rang. My brother was calling to let me know they had the Ambulance at my dad’s house and were taking him to the hospital. As of this morning, all we know is he doesn’t have Pneumonia and they are running more test. The doctor is supposed to be in at 10 am to talk to my dad and since my brother couldn’t get off my Aunt Sue is going to be there to talk to the doctors. Then she will call my brother and he will call my sister and she will call me to let me know what is happening.
Please Pray for us this morning as we wait on the answers as my dad has COPD hoping it hasn’t gotten worse. As COPD is what killed both my Uncles my father’s brothers.
In Jesus name, I ask him to watch over Charlie who still isn’t up to par. My dad as we struggle to find out what is happening. As well as for my shoulder to heal.
Now I know God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. So I hope he stops soon as this isn’t all that has happened in our home this weekend. Be watching to learn more about Toby and his prognosis with the Big C.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
