PAINT @ Angelika Film Center & Café- Dallas

The Mommies Reviews

Last night my family was invited to the media showing for PAINT / Monday, @ Angelika Film Center & Café- Dallas.

When we come out to Angelika Film Center & Café- Dallas we find something new to do. Last night was no, exception as we walked around to find something to eat, we stopped in at Wolf Burgers but before that we stumbled upon the Alice & Wonderland display for their Easter Egg Hunt there hosting this weekend with a Scavenger Hunt I would like to return to do and watch another movie with Charlie while shopping in some of the fun store we saw.

In the meantime if you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Angelika Film Center & Café- Dallas I hope you take the time to. This is such a cute Theater different from other ones we’ve been to. I love walking up all the stairs in different colors to get to the Theater. You walk into the Lobby and at night there is a beautiful chandelier which will take your breath away Charlie says.

Then you take the stairs or escalator up to the movies. For those of us that have trouble walking there is a elevator that will take you back down into the parking garage you park in to get to the Theater and before you ask no, it doesn’t cost to park her. Before you head upstairs to the Theater make sure you stop by the concession stand as they do not deliver to you in this theater and there is no, tables to eat on. Which is had if your purchasing drinks and popcorn but there is drink holders on each seat.

The move began and at first, I wasn’t sure I was going to like Paint, but Charlie wanted to see it because he thought it was about Bob Ross. As the film moved along both Charlie and I got caught up in the movie. We loved Owen Wilson’s performance, and it didn’t hurt that he is from Texas. There were quite a few ladies in the film, and I believe I recognized one of them, but I am not going to tell you who because you need to watch this movie for yourself.

The soundtrack is amazing, and we heard songs from John Denver and also Dolly Parton. Shh don’t tell anyone, but I found myself singing along and I must tell you if this soundtrack comes out, I will be the first person to purchase it. Throughout the movie I was watching Charlie and I found him laughing at times.

There is some scenes that wouldn’t be appropriate for children, but Charlie turns 16 this year and see’s more than what is shown in this movie on his video games or YouTube. As we were leaving Charlie let me know he would like to purchase Paint if it comes out on DVD and I do as well. As for David he said he liked it but got confused at times but the music was amazing and no, one else could have played this part and done it justace. Which I do agree with, and I bet if you se the movie you would agree with us.

Romance, Action, Suspense and more is what you will find when watching Paint. Charlie loved the men in the barber shop and would like for them to do his hair which matches Owen Wilson’s in the movie. David liked the office manager and for me I loved the van he drove in the movie and had fun sharing things we saw in the movie last night with Charlie in our Homeschool Classes including Bob Ross painting, VCR tapes and a home phone and I hope you take the time to look for all these items in the movie.

There is surprises in the movie as everything Carl Nargle loves and works so hard for is taken away. I was surprised that one lady didn’t turn out to be who I thought she was in the movie but this just made the movie more interested and no, I am not going to say more because I don’t want to give the film away. But don’t worry there is a happily ever after for you romantics out there.

In PAINT, Wilson portrays Carl Nargle, Vermont’s #1 public television painter who is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, and fans hanging on his every stroke… until a younger, better artist steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves. PAINT releases in theaters on April 7th.
