I thought before Charlie begins making dinner this evening, we would share a new children’s book One Brown Bear The World of Numbers by ANNE-MARIE LABRECQUE ; MELISSA COALLIER Illustrated by MATHIEU DIONNE ST-ARNEAULT a Twirl book from Chronicle Books which my family received a physical copy of in exchange for this review.

Charlie will be using One Brown Bear The World of Numbers in our Homeschool Home Economics Class when he begins teaching my niece and nephew who are 3year old twins to count this, Summer. At other times Charlie will be reading the book to Diasy and Payton to remind them of there numbers and teaching them simple math problems.

If you look at the bottom of the pages there are dominoes which I want to get the kids so as Charlie is tell them the numbers, they can find them on the dominoes and Charlie and Ican use these in our Homeschool Board Game Night. As were playing we can refer back to the book and help the little ones learn to play Dominoes as well. Would you like to join us?

The book explains simple math facts like digits. Charlie asked me to ask you if you knew there is 10 digits? They use 5 ways to teach us the numbers including digits, with fingers which everyone should have ten of or you could use your toes Charlie said, with dice, and in lowercase and cursive letters which Charlie said since it isn’t taught in school, Charlie and the smaller children doesn’t know how to read it so it will be my job to teach him and the little kids. letters.

To help with counting the book suggest using macaroni and Charlie said beans or beads but this can be dangerous for small children, and we may not use them. Charlie and I enjoyed all the colors used in the book and the different animals which Charlie can study in his classes. In the back of the book is grids with all the numbers you can print out and hang in your classroom Charlie said.

One Brown Bear The World of Numbers is for children 3 and up but I could see not only children of all ages enjoying the book but adults as well. if you haven’t seen the book in person I hope you pick up a copy as soon as possible because back to school will be here before we know it as well as the Holidays and books make wonderful gifts.
