Life sure has a sense of humor it seems because November 16th is National Fast Food Day #NationalFastFoodDay. My family ate out last night because David was tired and yes, we did have #FastFood. Instead of celebrating today we celebrated yesterday and today were having Baked Chicken, Field Peas and Augarten Potatoes. Would you like to join us for dinner?
I wish Taco Bell was the way it was when I was a child. Then I would have asked David to get me dinner from there but we all know its changed and it wouldn’t be the same place to celebrate National Fast Food Day and neither is McDonalds.
If your tired today then you should be excited to find out today is National Fast Food Day. Do you know what that means for you? An easy peasy dinnertime. Whether you prefer Hamburgers or Chicken, Salad or other fast food options they have come to encompass nearly any American food your crave.
Studies have shown that fast food can be even healthier than other restaurants’: Fast food adds an average of 10 milligrams of cholesterol compared to 58 — and 297 milligrams of sodium compared to 412.
National Fast Food Day Activities
- Take the opportunity today and skip on cooking and doing the dishes. Eat out and don’t forget the extra drink refills.
- Set the dining room table like it’s Thanksgiving minus the 5 a.m. alarm to get that Turkey in the oven and serve the Fast Food you had delivered.
- If you always opt for Hamburgers then you should try a Chinese spot. If you prefer Chicken try Roast Beef for a change.
Menu Quirks Worldwide
- Dunkin’ Donuts offer Pork or Spicy Beef Floss Doughnuts I will pass on. How about you?
- Indian Taco Bells carry Tikka Masala Burritos with grilled Chicken, Mexican Rice, Onion, and Tandoori Mayo with Cilantro which I will pass on. How about you?
- Starbucks in some Asian Countries serve a red Bean Green Tea Frappuccino. I’ll pass on as well.
- Filipino McDonald’s offer a Spaghetti and Fried Chicken Combo. Spaghetti sounds good but not from a McDonalds. Or does it?
- The Birizza at Sri Lankan Pizza Huts include Chicken or Paneer Rice topped with Pizza Dough and and Onion Salad on the side.
Why People Love National Fast Food Day
Fast food gets a bad rap, but plenty of healthy options exist. If you want to skip carbs opt for a Salad. Avoiding fried foods? Get your meal grilled.
Skip all that meal prep for a night and use the time you save to linger over dinner. Whether you dine-in or take-out, value those extra minutes with those closest to you.
Did you know there are more than 50,000 fast food chains in the United States. From the largest — Subway — to the small, regional- and City-specific restaurants, fast food chains offer unparalleled variety.
Thank you,
