With Charlie Homeschooling full time now I wanted to make it fun and for us to not have to site in front of a computer or use a workbook all the time. Which would turn Charlie off learning.
To do this I like to go on Field Trips with my family. It had always been my dream to visit the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame & Museum. I let David know and he also said he would like to go see the Museum in person.
After a lot of Praying I contacted the Museum and was invited to bring my family out in exchange for sharing our thoughts with you. What can I say other than man oh man you must go.
If your Homeschooling your children when you stop by the desk to pick up your tickets ask for there learning pack which is broke down into 2 different ages.
Once the kids finish the lessons they will be given a certificate to bring home with them. You can take pictures inside the museum as well and have the children create a book sharing what they learned and add the pictures and the certificate and have a wonderful keepsake.
There is only two floors in the Museum but they are packed full. We walked the stairs as I needed to get my steps in. If my friend Nancy comes with us next time we can take the Elevator to the second floor.
It was fun to see the excitement in Charlie when he found one of Reba McIntire’s costume because Charlie has always loved her singing and movies and TV shows she has been in. When Charlie was little he would refer to Reba as the lady I am going to marry one day.
I can’t wait to put together a lesson plan for Charlie to share facts about Reba and for Charlie to find out even more from the Museum and online.
David can’t wait for us to do a Lesson on Annie Oakley who is my hero. I can’t wait to go back and go through her display again because I know I will learn a lot I didn’t know.
There was a Gift Shop inside the Museum. We found quite a few books we would like to purchase including a book written by the Pioneer Women Ree Drummond who we all know I love.
