Knowing I drink occasionally you would think I would know what Applejack is or that I might have tried it but I can tell you I don’t know what it is and I don’t think I’ve ever tasted it. But I plan on asking David to purchase a bottle this weekend for the Holidays. Would you like to come over and have a drink or two with us?
National Applejack Month
October is National Applejack Month an annual designation observed in October. No, we’re not talking about the popular red and green cereal you’ve probably enjoyed at some point in your life. Many people in the U.S. are unfamiliar with Applejack. Which is a drink. We’re here to tell you all about the drink, and why you should give this beverage a try.
Applejack is a fermented Cider that dates back to the 1600s when Colonists were working in Apple Orchards in the Northeast. Using the Orchards to produce the hard Cider. While making hard Cider, they decided to go for something even stronger,. They upped the Alcohol content of the Apple Cider by leaving the barrels outside overnight to freeze. This method was known as “jacking,” which is where the name Applejack comes from.
Lets Celebrate National Applejack Month
Pour a glass of Applejack and use #NationalApplejackMonth to post on Social Media. I have a question for you. Can you think of a better time to start sipping on Apple Spirits than the beginning of the Holidays? I don’t think so. Applejack isn’t as well known as other Liquors or Spirits nowadays because Apples are a more expensive source to use than Grains. So, let’s give Applejack a resurgence this month and share Applejack with friends and family at Holiday parties!
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
