My best friend Richard has been fighting Cancer for a while on Friday morning Richard had 2 Seizures and refused to go to the hospital because the Doctors had told him he had only 2 weeks to a month to live. Friday night he went to sleep and passed away. We’ve ben friends since we was 15 and 16. His family was my family and we had both buried our parents together as well as my daughter, his niece and his older brother Tony.

I picked up My Best Friend Marty and found out it was about 2 guys Matt met Marty Matt (MC) and Marty meet as young adults, both still living at home. Matt was walking past Marty’s house late one night. At the hour it was they were both startled wondering what the other may be up to. It wasn’t long and the two guys were seeing each other on the street usually at night. When Marty was out walking, eventually getting to know one another and becoming best friends. I liked how the book showcases a guy’s friendship because there isn’t any other books like this.

Through My Best Friend Marty the Author bring us along as their friendship starts, through the story we watch there friendship blossom into a life long friendship that captures there ups and downs, keeping there friendship alive. They grow from young adults onwards, and they stay the best of friends.

Matt meets Marty and they hit it off and start hanging out. As they spend more time together, they bond and become best friends. Matt takes Marty under his wing and teaches him everything he can. Marty moved around a lot growing up due to his father’s job. It cracked me up how Marty seemed like a little kid in a candy store with all the knowledge and new experiences that Matt offers him as they grow together.
Matt and Marty are there for each other through life meeting Brooke and building new relationships with others along the way. Marty is there for Matt through his hardship with Brooke. Matt and Marty were there for each other like brothers.
This really was a heartwarming story full of happiness, love, heartache, and loss. The truths of grief and struggles Marty went through and how Matt was graciously there to do whatever was necessary for his best friend and stood by him. For some reason I had anticipated something bad happening to Matt or Marty at any time the entire read, especially since Marty kept mentioning a bad feeling
