I love being able to share new attractions and events with Charlie. Which I wasn’t able to experience as a child. Including plays and Musicals because my parents didn’t take us to these events.
Although my daughter Suzzane used to go with my Uncle Chuck. I must admit I never took Suzzie. Even though I could have. When Charlie was born I never thought of it either.
Until I begin Blogging and Homeschooling Charlie. I could use these events for our Music Class. Being able to get tickets to events like this meant I needed to get out of my comfort zone and contact local business.
Which is what I did a couple weeks ago when I contacted Magnificent Theater Company in Mansfield, Texas. They were hosting Murder at the Mansfield Log Inn & Vaudeville.
I had heard of Vaudeville and I knew David would know what it was. Although I wasn’t sure Charlie would. I decided to tell them we were going to a play. I wanted to see what they would say once the show started.
We arrived at the Magnificent Theater Company and walked inside where we were meet by one of the cast members. She made me feel right at home. Once we finished talking to her it was like I had found my new best friend.
Charlie liked hearing her accent and the costume she had on. Then we went inside and took our seats after we visited the General Store for some snacks and beverages.
Magnificent Theater Company begin Charlie had fun learning it was interactive. He loved being able to Boo the bad guys. Once the show begin Charlie didn’t move. I even caught Charlie singing along with the cast.
I was amazed when the show started and the Music begin because Charlie knew the song right away which was Ghost Riders in the Sky. I didn’t have to tell Charlie the name of the song and he knew the words and who sang the song from Homeschool Music Class.
During the intermission Charlie reminded me he knew what Vaudeville was. Lucy and Fred performed in shows before they met Lucy and Rickie from I Love Lucy. I guess you can learn things from TV. Just don’t tell David or Charlie I said that or I will never get them away from the TV.
During the intermission we were reminded we could vote on the killer. The tips would be split between the Actors. When Charlie heard this he asked if he could vote.
But we decided we would let David vote because he usually lets Charlie and I do everything. David just sits back and watches. The sad part was David wouldn’t tell us who he voted for until the show was over.
Now, before you ask no, the person David voted on wasn’t chosen which is fine it just means we need to go back and watch Murder at the Mansfield Log Inn & Vaudeville again which all three of us want to do.
My family loved the story line of Murder at the Mansfield Log Inn & Vaudeville. and the Music and the songs they sang. Including Clementine which Charlie was able to sing word for word.
They even asked us to Dance through the theater. I wish Charlie or David would have done danced with me. But it was just as much fun watching everyone else.
I would love to watch other shows hosted at Magnificent Theater Company. David and Charlie do to. Although I would go earlier so we could look through all the cute little stores we saw around the Magnificent Theater Company.
If your Homeschooling and want to learn about local Cities then you should come watch Murder at the Mansfield Log Inn & Vaudeville because the plot teachers you about the History of Mansfield.
As we were leaving Charlie and David let me know they loved the Actors and thought they did a wonderful job. I did as well although if I were to tell you the truth I would have liked to bring the bad guy home with me.
As a teenager I had told my mom I wanted to marry a Cowboy, The Bad Guy is one fine Cowboy handsome, mean and can sing like a Angel. What more does a women want?
I wouldn’t have much chance at getting him because he was a true ladies man. Although I would give it my best try. I have the perfect man for me. So I would have to give him to my sister.
