I thought I would share a parenting book I received in exchange for this review. Poems of Parenting: A Witty and Touching Compilation of Parenting Poems, The Perfect Gift for New Parents is written by Loryn Brantz. Inside this post is my affiliate links. I sat down this afternoon to read Poems of Parenting which you will find inside our Mother’s Day Gift Guide and before dug into the book the cover took me back to when Charlie was little. The mom laying down and the child throwing a fit. Haven’t all parents dealt with this once or twice? I know I have and don’t want to relive it.
The book is broken down into different parts including Wrinkly Baby Bean. The illustrations in the book are so cute and remind me of things Charlie used to draw. I could see the illustrations being used in a Comic Book.
My favorite poem was Mom Vision. I had Charlie and David look through the book although they both said it was a “mom book” until they started to read the poems and found out it was things they enjoy or had done or would do.
About the book:
A must-have book for all parents, this collection of tender, funny, radically honest poems about parenthood, based on a series of popular Instagram posts, is the perfect baby shower or Mother’s Day gift.
Modern parenthood can feel indescribable. This poignant collection of poetry and art chronicles the ups and downs of a rollercoaster ride that every parent will recognize. Capturing the joys and frustrations that come with each fleetingly precious (or interminable) stage of development, Poems of Parenting will be a balm to the soul of weary parents.
From fresh baby snuggles to terrible tantrums, and everything in-between, artist Loryn Brantz has touched on something unique and universal in her debut poetry collection based on her popular Instagram series. Poems of Parenting is the perfect companion on any parent’s journey through the uncertain terrain of raising cherished children in extraordinary times.
