There isn’t many times Charlie and I are able to go on a Mother/ Son Date. Where we do things by ourselves unless we go to the Parks by our home when David is working. Last year Charlie and I went to Grapevine, Texas to ride on the train Thomas the Engine.
We had a lot of fun looking at all the Vendors they had sat up. As we walked around we kept bumping into this gentleman with Stilts and he was so kind to Charlie.
It’s so funny what children remember about the things we do with them. Because when I ask Charlie about this day it isn’t Thomas the Train Charlie mentions but this gentleman on stilts and how kind he was to everyone.
I wish more people was like Charlie because we would live in a kinder gentle world. There wouldn’t be so much bullying and hatred. Everyone would smile and talk to everyone.
No, matter what you was doing we would stop and help each other. We would sit outside in the evenings with the neighbors while the kids play. But that is all past. How can we get back to a simpler time?
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
