Moe’s Country Kitchen

The Mommies Reviews

David was off yesterday and we needed to run errands. While out and about we decided to have Brunch. With me wanting to try new places I reminded David about Moe’s Country Kitchen in Fort Worth and how they had just opened up.

They are off Beach Street which if you were to ask me is Watauga but the address says Fort Worth. For once I didn’t need GPS to figure out where we were going. We arrived and had fun seeing all the stores in the Shopping Center which we can’t wait to go back and visit.

I liked finding out there is parking right in front of the restaurant because it was sprinkling. If they get busy you will not have to worry about parking because there is plenty throughout the parking lot. We got out and walking inside the restaurant.

I loved walking in and seeing how big it was. There is so much space and you do not fill like your seating in your neighbors lap. I loved all the Murals around the restaurant. There is a sign out front with the Lunch Specials.

Be prepared walking in you will pass the Pie Case and let me tell you there Cinnamon Rolls stopped my in my Tracks. David purchased one for me for a treat last night. The Cinnamon Roll was so good I’m ready to go back for another one. I also like finding out they had German Chocolate Pie I would like to get David along with Pecan Pie.

We were seated and they offer us both tables and booths. I asked for a booth and there was enough room I didn’t feel like I was being smushed into my seat. The waitress introduced herself to us. I asked for Sweet Tea and David Dr. Pepper. The glasses was big enough that I didn’t have to ask for a refill. But was able to bring my left over drink home with me.

The menu has so many items that if your not careful you could spend hours searching for what you will choose to eat. I knew I wanted the Bacon Wrapped Hamburger Steak which was on special. I could have had Soup or Salad with my meal.

The Soup was Chicken Noodle but I asked for Fried Squash and Mashed Potatoe’s with Brown Gravy on the Side. I should have gotten a Roll with my dinner but the waitress didn’t bring me mine but I tasted Davd’s and it was really good.

My Bacon Wrapped Hamburger Steak arrived and I was disappointed to find out the Hamburger Steak was a flat piece of Meat with Bacon placed across the Steak. I’ve had this meal plenty of time at other restaurants and the Meat has the Bacon wrapped around it not placed on top.

If I had knew this I would have picked out something else. The Mashed Potato’s were okay but nothing to write home to mom about. To me that tasted like Instant Potatoes and needed more seasoning. I didn’t not like my Fried Squash at all. The Breading reminded me of Onion Ring Breading.

My Squash was gooey on the inside and I just didn’t like the flavor at all. I was upset with the service we received once the food was delivered the waitress never checked on us. I couldn’t ask about my Roll or ask for something else in place of the Fried Squash.

She did recommend the Chicken Fried Steak so David choose it and French Fries with Gravy on them. The Chicken Fried Steak was pretty big and we both liked the taste a lot. I love Breading and for me the more the merrier but David likes less Breading so this was to much for him.

The Fries were Homemade and so good. David asked for no, Salt and everything was perfect. The White Gravy was thick and so tasty. I picked out Brown Gravy and it was nice and thick but not to thick. It wasn’t Salty and I would like to have it again.

Both David and I would go back because we want to try there Breakfast and other lunch choices along with the Dessert. The prices was inline with other restaurants around Town but if I wanted a Bacon Wrapped Hamburger Steak I would go to one of those resturants.

I hope you take the time to check out Mo’s Country Kitchen which is family friendly and there is something for everyone on the Menu. I could see having a work meeting here as well as hanging out with my family for Sunday dinner or bringing my Girlfriends for a lunch date. They are open till 8 a lot of nights which is a Godsend because most Cafes in our area close around lunch time.
