The Mommies Reviews

I would like to let you know Minka Inhouse is seeking funding to promote the local production of artisan wool and ceramic goods which can be used in our homes.

CHILE— With so many retail products mass-produced overseas, South American company Minka InHouse has brought together a group of native craftsmen to preserve the process of making wool and ceramic products by hand.

Minka InHouse has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $15,000 by to help pay the craftsmen fair wages, buy raw materials, and give a surge to the local economy.

After working three frustrating years in the home décor departments of several retail stores, Francisca Aldea, the creator of Minka InHouse, wanted to work more closely with the production of the products.

“I immediately noticed that all of the products were mass produced,” said Aldea. “Our domestic manufacturing was all but destroyed by retail stores selling products made overseas.”

Aldea began searching for local craftsmen to teach her how to hand-create products from wool and ceramic, forming Minka InHouse in the process. “There are still talented artisans who love their work and create beautiful, quality products,” said Aldea.

“I created Minka InHouse to give those artists a chance to band together and get their products to market.”

The goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to give the company a good start and make it sustainable. “My hope is that through promoting the production of local goods we can preserve the culture and identity of South America,” said Aldea.

Supporters of the campaign will enjoy a special pre-order discount on Minka InHouse new collection, which will begin production in August and be ready for shipment by September.

Contributors giving $35 to the campaign will receive a set of ceramic gold mugs. Those contributing $50 will choose among four pieces of the I Love the White collection of ceramic vases, bowls, and triangles.

Supporters giving $120 will receive their choice of four Jacquard knit blankets, and those giving $200 will receive their choice of two Jacquard knit blankets.

Contributors giving $600 will receive the ultimate collection, which includes four blankets, two ceramic gold mugs, and the complete I Love White collection.

For those who want to be more involved with a pledge of $4,000, the contributor will get to enjoy a round trip paid visit to Minka InHouse workshop and design their own pieces. This includes a five-day hotel stay.
