Mighty Mara (Mighty Mara, 1)

The Mommies Reviews

I would like to wish you a fun filled Saturday which is the first Saturday of September. In our Homeschool Charlie doesn’t have to do schoolwork on the weekends unless were finishing work up. Charlie is still expected to read for 30 minutes. We’ve chosen a new children’s book we received for a review. The book is called Mighty Mara (Mighty Mara, 1) by Carina Ho (Author), Jesse Byrd (Author), Monica Paola Rodriguez (Illustrator).

Charlie loved seeing the little girl on the cover of d Mighty Mara (Mighty Mara, 1) check out her smile it’s so pretty. I love her suit with the stars on it. Charlie said make sure you look at the flower in her hair. Its read Charlie’s favorite color. I like her name Mara and I can’t wait to find out whhy she is called Might Mara. Would you like to find out as well?

Mara lives in Sametown. Isn’t thst a funny name for a town? Everyone likes the same things. I don’t think I would like that. I like the way we are all different. How about you? All except Mara who is different and would like friends who get her. Mara signs up to dance at the Talant Show. She knew people might not understand her dancing, but she didn’t let that stop her.

her teacher tries to talk Mara out of dancing and to join the math club. You should see Mara face you can tell she is mad. She gets upset because no, one believes she can win the Talent Show, but I bet she can. How about you? Her mom reminds her she doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone.

The night of the Talant Show we see Mara is in a wheelchair. There is stairs but her friends help her get up on the stage. She begins to dance and from the pictures she is incredible. I wish I was there to tell Mara how proud of her I am. Once she finishes dancing it’s as quite as a Cricket. The announcer lets her know she was incredible.

I am not going to tell you if Mara wins or not because I think you should purchase copy of Mighty Mara (Mighty Mara, 1) to share with your family and friends. The book is for younger children, but everyone can learn through the story that we shouldn’t let a disability stop us from doing things we love.

A young girl aspires to dance despite her disability.

Welcome to Sametown where everyone and everything is…well…the same. Except Mara! She’s a little different. She’ bright. She’s sunny. And, unlike her classmates who are all planning on performing a similar magic show act at the school talent show, she is going to dance, dance, dance! One problem: everyone in Sametown – her classmates, her teacher—they all think she shouldn’t do it. And it’s not just (it seems) because dancing isn’t the status quo in Sametown…It’s because they just don’t believe in Mara. Mara won’t let their dissuading and even their heckling rock her spirit, though. She’s Mighty Mara, and she’s about to shake she some new life into her muted town. In the most surprising and beautiful of ways.
