I don’t know about you but I’m having a hard time coming to terms that February has ended and where going into May. For those of you #Homeschooling your children I wanted to share a children’s book featuring #Holidays that happen in May you can use when teaching your students.

May is excited to share her love for gardening with her friends. She shows her friends April and June how her garden helps her make lei to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month. She also loves to make salsa for Cinco de Mayo with her garden vegetables. What May loves most of all is using the flowers in her garden to gift to her mom for Mother’s Day. This year she has a special surprise planned. Will her garden be ready for her Mother’s Day surprise?
About the author: April Martin
April Martin is an author, illustrator, teacher, and mom of two. While teaching her first-grade class, she discovered there were not many books to teach her students about the months of the year… that’s where her very own name gave her an idea! She realized she could create characters named after the months of the year that her students could know and love
. Time went by, LOTS of time, but her characters were still in her thoughts. Now, a mother herself, she wanted to finally bring her Calendar Kids to life. April knew all along the vision she had for her books and began to learn everything she could about writing and illustrating. April is a self-taught illustrator and always encourages others to explore new creative outlets. You never know, you could be just MONTHS away from creating something amazing!
