Charlie, David and I were able to visit the Perot Museum of Nature and Science on Saturday May 4th. Where we attended May The Fourth Be With You. Charlie was blessed to be able to bring his best friend Bradley with us.
We walked around outside Perot Museum of Nature and Science and it was fun to see the boys play on the Frogs. Then Charlie and Bradley tried out the Musical Instruments.
Charlie and Bradley stopped at the tables and put together a Craft. On the way home both boys asked me if we could get the supplies to make more of the Light Crafts at home.
This was a God send because creating these crafts will give them Bradley and Charlie something to do this Summer keeping them off the Electronics. Charlie even let Bradley know we could watch Star Wars movies and find coloring sheets online.
I was so proud of Charlie seeing he had actually learned things from when I was homeschooling Charlie full time. Charlie asked me if we could do a Costume Contest with his friends where they would dress up like characters from the movies.
Off to the Thrift Stores we go this week to get the supplies we need to create costumes which can lead to a lot of free play this Summer. David was amazed to hear all Charlie wanted to do.
Charlie even asked to pick up books on Star Wars. I let Charlie know I wasn’t sure if there was any out but I would look online and Charlie said he would do it once we got home.
Charlie let me know if he found books he would call Half Price Books and see if they had the books he found. If not I will see what I can find on Amazon. Charlie did tell me he would prefer to go the Book Store by the mall to pick up books.
Charlie wouldn’t have to wait on them to come in. Be still my heart is Charlie actually asking for books? David said if we find the books he would sit down with Charlie and help him read them.
On Sunday morning we got up and turned on the TV and there was a Star Wars Marathon and Charlie hadn’t seen a lot of the movies. Charlie sat down with David and they watched all the movies.
Charlie didn’t get bored or even ask to go get on his Game. It was fun to hear Charlie ask questions or say I saw this or that at Perot Museum of Nature and Science yesterday. Showing me he was paying attention.
From everything Charlie saw and learned this weekend Charlie let me know he could set up a Lesson Plan for my nieces and nephews and teach them about Star Wars.
I asked Bradley what he liked about the Event and Bradley let me know he enjoyed meeting the characters and being able to try out Reality TV and playing Virtual Darts.
Bradley said he was surprised there was so many characters walking around and that he could actually talk to them. Bradley let me know it was a dream come true for him.
My nephew David saw our post and wanted to know why didn’t I invite him because he has been a Star Wars Fan all of his life. I let him know I didn’t think about it but he should always check out
Perot Museum of Nature and Science website as they add new Exhibits and Events throughout the year.
I event let David know they were showing Star Wars movies in there Theater that day. Let me tell you David was so upset I hadn’t told him about the event. But he let me know from now on he will be following
Perot Museum of Nature and Science website so he can take his family.
I asked my husband David what he thought of May the Force Be with You be and David said he loved the event. As we were walking around I even saw David taking pictures and sending them to people he worked with.
David’s boss is a fan of Star Wars and before the event ended he came and meet us and walked through the exhibit. I must tell you Steven was like little a little kid. Steven couldn’t stop saying look at that or come here and lets get a picture with this or that.
I can never thank the Perot Museum of Nature and Science enough for putting together for Families to come and learn more about Star Wars. was a amazing once in a life time experience.
As Galactic fans we were able to connect with the light and dark sides of the “Force” at Perot Museum of Nature and Science on (May 4). Where we were able to celebrate a pop-culture phenomenon with a two-day sci-fun event May 4-5: May the Fourth Be With You.
I would like to let you know the boys were able to enjoy saber battles on the plaza, droid races, Star Wars films, themed music and food, performances, character meet-ups, virtual reality, crafts and much more.
Charlie, David and I had thought of returning on Sunday so the boys could watch Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakes and Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi although we found them on TV and ended up watching them at home. It wasn’t as much fun as it would have been watching them in a Theater and hearing other peoples reactions.
I had forgot to tell the boys guests were encouraged to don sci-fi garb while discovering the science behind the famous films, exploring robotics, futuristic technology and life on other planets.
Charlie wouldn’t have had a Costume to wear unless we could have found his Cape he did have one of the Swords and if I am not mistaken Bradley did as well.
David was amazed to find out the activities were free with general admission. Including having pictures taken with the characters from the movies.
