David and I were in Kroger’s grocery shopping when I saw a bin of Little Golden Books. David said I will go get the Bread we need because I know you’re going to want to look at the books. Even though Charlie is grown, and my nieces and nepers think there too old for Little Golden books that isn’t true.
I have several Little Golden Books that belonged to Suzzane and some from when Charlie was little. As well as a couple that are special to me. Including Lucille Ball: A Little Golden Book Biography I picked up this week while shopping with David. For Suzzie who loved Lucile Ball and I Love Lucy just as Charlie, David and I do.
Not only that Charlie and I can use Lucille Ball: A Little Golden Book Biography in our Homeschool Reading Class, Drama and so much more. If you love Lucille Ball as much as we, do I hope you check out this book as soon as possible. You might want to check out My Little Golden Book About Betty White, My Little Golden Book About Dolly Parton and My Little Golden Book About Ruth Bader Ginsburg which I didn’t see but will allow us to take a Homeschool Field Trip to Barnes & Noble. Would you like to come with us?
When Little Golden Books were first published in 1942, high-quality books for children hadn’t been available at a price most people could afford. Little Golden Books changed that! Priced at just 25 cents and sold where people shopped every day, they caused an instant sensation and were soon purchased by the hundreds of thousands. Created by such talented writers as Margaret Wise Brown (author of Goodnight Moon) and Richard Scarry, Little Golden Books have helped millions of children develop a lifelong love of reading.
