Lost, Travel, Found: A Compelling Story of Surviving Grief, Finding One’s self Through World Travels, and Falling Madly in Love

The Mommies Reviews

This is a review for the book Lost, Travel, Found: A Compelling Story of Surviving Grief, Finding One’s self Through World Travels, and Falling Madly in Love which I received in exchange for this review.

It’s Thanksgiving and as I look around my home, I miss the ones who aren’t here today including my parents and my daughter. As well as my brother who I want to go see next week. Along with my sister who is going to stop by later. Then I take a moment to thank the Lord for David and Charlie as well as his parents who I was able to check on this morning.

David is cleaning the kitchen for me so I can do a little bit of work. Charlie is sleeping. Christmas Music is on and I hear David humming. The last two years has been so hard with Covid but no, matter what the Future might bring I have today.

I climb on the couch with my copy of Lost Travel Found: Turning Pain into Purpose and began thumbing through the book. Then I come to the chapter “Leaving on A Jet Plan” and immediately my mind goes to this song which has always been one of my favorites.

I stop to read the chapter before finishing browsing the book and I could almost feel myself with her in her Hostel. Then I move through the book and I come upon Disney and Wish Upon a Star and hear myself singing this song as well.

Then I end up at the back of the book and the Glossary and I’m amazed at all the references in it and songs I know and want to look up that I hadn’t heard in a while including “Dance with My Father” who I am missing like crazy this morning.

Before I read the whole book, I am going to have Charlie make a playlist of all the songs mentioned to listen to as I read what Ashley Jackson has written and before I began, I can tell you there will be tears because just like her husband who had Cancer my mom passed away from Cancer.

I know when I finish reading Lost, Travel, Found I plan on letting my sister borrow the book because she struggles with our Dad’s passing and I believe Lost, Travel, Found, may help Debbie come to terms not only with my dad’s passing but mine.

As for me as I watched the Author do things on her own in Memory of her dad, she has gotten me to thinking of thing Suzzane and I always wanted to do and now might be the time to take a trip or two to Elvis home and down Route 66 with Charlie and even though he never knew his sister share stories of his life as we make our way to the Basketball Hall of Fame were, Charlie is wanting to visit. Which would be our first time to ever take a Family Vacation that is if we can come up with the money to travel. Because things are tight and we never seem to have extra money although we do have everything we need and that is more important than traveling. I am able to stay home with Charlie why David works even though I could get a job and we could do more time with my son is more important especially since I didn’t, have this opportunity with Suzzie.

Lost, Travel, Found: A Compelling Story of Surviving Grief, Finding One’s self Through World Travels, and Falling Madly in Love — Indulge in an Inspirational Personal Tale of Overcoming Hardships, Caregiving, & Coming Out a Victor!

Hardships have defined us in more ways than we realize… or more than we care to admit.

It is through surviving life’s rough patches that we find our way to off the beaten paths toward self-discovery, learning, and well-deserved triumphs.

Ashley Jackson is a walking testament to this. After the unexpected death of her beloved father, Ashley sought to blunt her grief by navigating the world on a solo trip, and coming home to the love of her life, Troy.

But, as with most things, her happiness – though profound and life-changing – was challenged, her faith shaken, when her husband was given a devastating Cancer diagnosis.

Not one to be defeated easily, Ashley used her life’s hardships to inspire her to find the best version of herself. This allowed her to radiate love, compassion, patience, and determination unto others and become an inspiration to the people around her.

Lost, Travel, Found” is a story of perspective, hope, and big dreams. Ashley takes you through the challenges she went through on her caregiving journey, including her struggle to overcome her victim mentality and finally emerge the victor.

Lost, Travel, Found” will make hope call your name again. The question is… Will you be brave enough to answer?
