“We Go Together Very Well” is the first song on 28 Days. It nods to the ‘60s with its trippy Who/Beatles style. The music video features colorful animation by Pirata y Luna.

As Saturday Morning Cereal Bowl notes in their video debut this morning, the tune is worth repeating to friends and family – a reaffirmation of the ties that bind!

To get an inside look at how the album came together, check out this interview with Ann on Hvy.com

Perhaps you also saw the recent news about another song on 28 Days:Marshmallow Man (featuring Suzi Shelton).”

Guests on 28 Days include Frances England, Elena Moon Park, Tommy Soulati Shepherd (Alphabet Rockers), Ric Salazar (Los Gallos), and Anna Jacobson, a noted Chicago-based violinist. Kids’ voices and the Little Miss Ann band add to the welcoming and engaging nature of the recording.

Stream the songs from 28 Days on this private Soundcloud playlist.

All of the songs were written, recorded and produced under quarantine. Working closely with Grammy-winning producer Dean Jones, the Chicago-based artist expanded beyond folk and acoustic rock to present a multi-layered production involving rock guitars, violin, sousaphone, and even traditional instruments from the Philippines like the balafon, kubing and pew pew.

Ann draws on her experiences as a Filipina American and as a longtime teacher at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, in crafting and presenting these original songs.

Happy listening!

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
