Good morning, how are you? This morning I will be heading to the movies with my niece and nephew along with my sister and Charlie. Before we head out my niece and nephew have to read for 30 minutes. I can’t wait to share Little Chicks (Taro Gomi) by Taro Gomi. I received a physical copy of the book in exchange for this review.

My niece picked up the book and Lily let me know she loved the size of the book which would fit inside her backpack perfectly and no, one would know she was bringing a book to the movies. Then Lily let me know she liked the Chick but more than that she loved the little Bird on the cover. Then Lily and I discussed the colors in the circle and used them for a Scavenger Hunt when we went on a walk.

Jason saw the book and came to sit down next to Lily and I as she read the book to us. Lily is 8 and didn’t have any trouble at all reading the book by herself. Lily and Jason loved all the adventures the Chicks went on and we had fun adding to the story and deciding what might have happened at each place.

Charlie and I can use this book in our Homeschool Reading Class when studying Animals or Chickens this year. Charlie let me know he loved the illustrations, and the book should be for toddlers or early elementary students although older children and adults may enjoy the storyline just as much as we did.

To get up and get their energy out this morning before heading to the movie I had the kids put themselves in the Chicks place and they ran around just like the Chicks which was a lot of fun. Since it wasn’t raining I filled a Bucket of water as the kids ran under it I poured the water out which cooled us down in the hot Texas Weather.

The Chicks rode a bus which I’ve always wanted to take Charlie on and at the end of the Summer when Lily and Jason come back, I plan on taking us on a Field Trip to ride our city bus and to have lunch. Would you like to come with us? Once you finish your run do like the Chicks and run home and share your adventures with your parents.
