Monday will be the 1st day back in school for Charlie since the Holidays. I am ready to get started. We have a new set of math books to use. They are the Life of Fred Elementary Math Books. There are 10 different books for us to use in our classroom. This is a review for the Life of Fred Elementary Math Book but even though we were sent the books the thoughts in this review are all mine and my families. No, one else.
Charlie and I sat down this morning, and we went back over the set of Life of Fred Math Books and Charlie has chosen the Ice Cream book to begin his studies with. Once we begin working in this new math book, we will be sharing what we learn with you as the days go by. In the meantime if you have used this math book come and share with us what you liked or disliked about this book and why.
I can’t wait to check out the other 9 Life of Fred books as they all cover subjects Charlie would enjoy from dogs to butterflies and so much more. One of the reasons I like the Life of Fred books so much is there is reading included. Charlie will get extra reading in everyday that we use the Life of Fred Books.
I asked David to take a look at the books and Charlie likes the illustrations showing us how to do the things that they talk about. Habing the illustrations will help me a lot. I am not as good at math as I should be. I know both Charlie and I will learn new math facts. Along with David if helps us out he will as well.
Charlie and I browsed through the entire book of Life Of Fred Ice Cream and we both liked learning there is a index as it allows us to find the math problems we want to learn or go back over each day. The book is broken down into sections which will making teaching easier. As we will know where to start and stop,
We will not need to purchase additional Math workbooks for Charlie. Unless we wanted to because the Life of Fred is an entire years worth of math. Once Charlie is finished he will be ready for 3rd grade. With the books being hard cover we can use them again and again. or we could pay them forward and pass them on to another family who is homeschooling once we finish using them and the new family is looking for math books for their children.
