The song opens with the line, “excuse me sir, I couldn’t help but notice that Vietnam Vet hat on your head,” capturing the essence of what inspired this song. Kurt Stevens is dedicated to expressing his gratitude to veterans and active-duty military personnel whenever he sees them wearing insignia such as a “Vietnam Veteran” hat or shirt. This song is an extension of that gratitude.
Not content with just words, Stevens is taking concrete action to support our troops and veterans. He has pledged to donate 50 percent of the song’s streaming and YouTube revenue to multiple military charities, providing much-needed assistance to those who have served our country.

Kurt’s dedicated fanbase also played an essential role by submitting their images, which feature prominently in the video. Stevens also partnered with Codeword Hats, a company based in Nashville, Tennessee. Together, they designed a signature hat, featured in the song’s album art and video.
