Most of the time in Sci-Fi Suspenseful novels there isn’t a strong female lead but that is what Kingdom of Blood and Spirit is based on. The AUthor has created a captivating mix of secrets, enemies-to-lovers, and revenge, all set in a beautifully crafted fantasy world. Sam, the protagonist, is unwavering loyalty, compassionate, and Sam has a strong-willed nature making her a perfect fit, not only for her love interest but also as a formidable opponent against a villain most people would find they love to hate.

There is enough mystery and interaction to keep your reading without being impatient for the twists or reveal. I hope Kingdom of Blood and Spirit allows the Author to produce a second book because I will be adding the first book to my son’s Homeschool Recommended Reading List of books he can choose to read this year allowing Charlie to check out a new Author’s work. Its a clean story and perfect for High Schoolers.

About the book:

One cruel Queen

Four Fae Princes

A human to save, or doom them all.

Samantha just wants to survive long enough to escape to a life of freedom away from the dangerous sickness that plagues the mortal lands.

But be careful what you wish for.

Tragedy strikes and the sickness takes her father. With his passing, the Church of Flames comes to claim her. She turns to the one person she has left, her teacher and godmother. Only to find a bracelet left by her birth mother slapped onto her wrist.

And suddenly she finds herself in a land she once thought to be nothing more than a myth.

Faerie.

Tasked with finding a male named Niall and told to stay far away from the wicked fae Queen, instead, she ends up in her clutches, facing down a queen hellbent on breaking the veil to her realm and enslaving mortals.

Alliances are made, and destiny is set in motion.

Sam plans to escape back to the mortal realm to warn them. Except, the Queen has other plans. She ties Sam’s life to the angry, devastatingly handsome Prince, Killian. A bond that cannot be broken.

As lies and secrets are unraveled, Sam has to make a decision: will she stay and fight, or will she go home?
This book is perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout and Holly Black

Riley Hunt is the pen name of Trish Beninato. She writes both adult and young adult fantasy, sci-fi, and paranormal with a little romance and strong female leads that kick ass all on their own. She lives in Maryland currently, but who knows where she will end up next, even she doesn’t know. She holds a master’s in Education with an emphasis on Reading Literacy, but instead writes the literature she once sought to teach. She is a wine and coffee enthusiast who overindulges way too much.
