These easy ideas will be a good distraction for moms while you get stuff done (like cleaning, laundry or the 1 million other stuff you need to do every day.
Blocks are your friend. I do not care if they seem to be a set you get new, pull out of the attic, make yourself with 2x4s, or maybe cardboard boxes that you just pretend are blocks. They can play for days without losing interest. I’m thinking some kids like the demolition part over the particular building, but it’s all good. Not only are they entertained, but it is also improving their motor skills, learning different shapes and using logic to place it all at once. They’re the alpha and omega of youngsters activities
Tape Roads, every kind of road. Sometimes we make them with blocks, other times I take advantage of painter’s tape to form them around the house. you’ll use adhesive tape, but painter’s tape accomplishes without leaving a bunch of residues that I’ve got to wash up.} I believe I can purchase stock in Scotch Blue Tape because there are numerous race tracks & roads on porches across this country and around many houses that it’s insane. Kids LOVE it, though. If you do not want roads everywhere in your house (but it’s fun!), then a roll-up car track is fun, too. Some toddlers wiggle with this one for months and it still hasn’t lost its charm.
Rice Trays are the proper educational kid’s activities. My good friend gave me the thought to create rice trays. Sometimes I take advantage of a pan, sometimes a shallow plastic bowl, but now I pulled an old Scrabble box out of the recycle bag and used the lid. Get creative! they will shovel it with little toys (like sand), or write/draw then shake and begin everywhere again. I chop up regular old plastic straws to use as “pencils” to suit his little hands. I’ve seen this method used with sand, salt, or popcorn kernels, too. I favor rice because it’s cheap and simple to wash up.
Make Music; While we’re talking about rice, it is also great to use to create your instruments for music play. We used leftover plastic Easter Eggs, stuffed with rice and sealed with Washi tape for maracas. to create a drum, I stretched a balloon that I cut the tip off of to stretch over a peanut can (if your child has nut allergies, you may also use an outsized veggie can.)
Water bottle bowling; Recycling is often a decent idea when it involves activities, which is why we used water bottles to travel bowling. For older kids, it’s good to place something (like sand) within the bottles to weigh them down, but only put a small amount within the bottom of the bottles for tiny ones. Just use any rubber ball and you’re able to go.
Playdoh, the old childhood stand by has lasted through the years because it’s just plain good. There are playdough recipes out there to create your own, but you’ll be able to buy a 4 pack for about $2 at any retail store. Honestly, I do not have time to create Playdoh while I’m chasing after a 2-year-old, so I just pass.
Forts are another good old-fashioned fun thanks to pass hours. Babies at daycare nap, the women read to them there, and sometimes they even have snack picnics within the fort. There are some great, elaborate ones out there (Ashley’s TeePee is magnificent), but just collect some kitchen chairs and throw a blanket over them. I’m going to make our version soon, and I’ll share it with you after I do.
Memory games are such a good teaching tool, but they’re also good for quiet time play. I made h this set for Christmas, but you’ll be able to buy regular ones, and even find free printable memory game versions out there, too. Either way, they seem to be a good way to assist them to learn while having fun.
Shaving cream paint is sometimes best at the very end of a protracted day. It’s a good way for them to burn off extra energy going crazy painting, but I prefer to try and do it right before bath time (because it can get messy.) Cheap foamy toiletries with some drops of food product mixed in is that the perfect thanks to make merry and acquire clean while expanding their creativity.
Thank you,
