With Charlie Homeschooling full time he has to be able to search for items online and I wanted him to have safe websites to use. Because I can’t always be sitting next to him to see where he is searching for items or protect him from sites he shouldn’t be on.
Sometimes we will ask for something and it pulls up something totally different. I compiled a list of Kid Friendly Search Engine Sites I thought you might want to check them out as well.
The Internet opens up a world of knowledge. A world that is wonderful, but also unpredictable. Parental supervision is recommended at all times.

Kiddle.com is a “safe visual search engine for kids” developed by Google. It has all of the power and resources of Google, with all of the safe search filters that parents and educators need.
You may think you’re experiencing deja vu at this point, but here is yet another available safe search engine that is geared toward kids and utilizes the power of…you guessed it…Google!
(Seriously, can any company come out swinging and outshine Google in this area?).
A directory of good resources (a 600+ strong subject list) which kids can use for information or schoolwork.
The doorway to Yahoo’s directory of websites and URLs exclusively for kids. The homepage is colorful, engaging, and full of cool stuff to keep your child engaged. So much so, that it’s quite easy to miss out the search box at the top corner.
If any name shouts out that it’s a search engine for kids, then this is it. The search engine is again based on Google Custom Search and it tries to keep the content as children friendly as possible.
